I'm in the final stages of my fursuit/costuming website.
Take a look around and let me know ifyou have any suggestions.  It still needs some tweaking, but it's coming along

It's coming along quite well there, by the looks of things.
Good luck with the new site. Smiley

Ker-whaaa?

Karma, you're one of the sneakiest foxes I've met.  Nowhere for ages, then all of a sudden jumping in like a ninja at a sushi convention.

Temperance:  Looks good so far.  The picture scheme on the front page is effective.  Instead of just saying 'commissions closed' on the front page, you might want to direct people's attention to the fact that they can still email you a quote, or even get on a waiting list if you're doing that.  It tends to be more effective for someone just browsing the site for the first time, and who doesn't know whether or not you're still open for business.

Cheers,

websites functional, easy to navigate, and the colour scheme doesn't make me wanna burn my eyes out.

But the eyes came close to being burnt when i noticed the JPG Snot compression on the navi links and main banner text Smiley

Hmm. Yeah. With simple navigation graphics like those, I'd typically save them as a 16 or 32 colour GIF... which should also make for a fair bit smaller file size for bandwidth purposes. It'd prevent the compression artifacts from showing up and tends to look pretty crisp, anyways.

Just a small note for me, the red text you have on the front page (sorry i totally cannot remember what it said heh...) maybe make it a little bit darker, i noticed that combined with the green background it made my monitor try to burn my eyes out... it could just be an lcd thing but they never like green and red together...

Are you still taking comments?

The site doesn't look bad. The gallery page looks especially nice. The only major problem is how squished the text is. I notice that the tables have padding set to 0, which means the text is squished against the sides. Also, vision-impaired visitors would find the site impossible to navigate; you should put some alt tags in each of your link images.

Just because it's amazing, you should check out CSS Zen Garden. If someone was using a device that couldn't render styles, the page could look white with big green squares. The best practice is to design your site to look the best it can without style, and then attach the styles from a separate stylesheet (which the Zen Gardens demonstrate).

On a cell-phone, the links alone would take up two or three screens, and you wouldn't find actual content until another couple screens after that. If instead the phone had images disabled, the user would find a big column of squares called 'Image'. It would be impossible to navigate.

I'll also point out the usefulness of php. If your server allows it, you could make a single page for your gallery, and then pass it the name of the picture. This way, you wouldn't have to make a completely new page for every single image.

Shows up fine on my N95. I guess it depends on the mobile browser you use.

Just my thoughts. The logo/buttons still have the grainy color compression look to them though. I would sacrifice the 25-50kb for the images, and have them look proper instead of grainy for the sake of a small pic.

It does work fine on a cellphone, despite the horizontal scrolling (always a no-no). However, if you have images disabled it's impossible to navigate.

Hmmm.. thanks.  I don't own a cell phone, so I don't really think about how it would be viewed on one....
I'm still not completely trilled with my site, I'll probably continue to dabble with it when I have time.
