hey there, I have a website currently however it's terribly oldschool and is pretty much entirely HTML. Not very nice for loading..

I really want to take a swing at trying to code my own site so it is not all html and therefore information is easy to update etc. But I am a complete idiot when it comes to coding from scratch. I can work my way around editing to my needs, just not the ground work.

Does anyone know of a place where they have free templates for websites so I could maybe have a go at editing that?

Of late I've been doing a lot of client sites using WordPress ... there are hundreds of free templates to choose from and you and mod a good number of them to looks and feel as you'd like them to (some though basic html code, other through CSS and other you need to have a bit of a understanding of PHP to do it).

My most of my own sites are PHP based, it does make for a faster ability to update when you are doing a lot of updating like daily for a blog or tutorials or the like.

WordPress is in two forms and both are free ... one is hosted on the WP servers itself and you can't mod anything and the other is one you load onto your own server (though most of late already have it loaded) and you can mod to your hearts content in most regards.
