im sitting pretty with an EVGA e-GeForce 8800GT and a Q6600 Quadcore CPUthats running Crysis on Very High settings and getting excellent framerate.

Ive been looking a little into the nvidia GTX200 series, but my question is, is it worth the price of admission? these cards range between $250-$700, while mine sits at $135 new.

Depending on when you bought your EVGA GeForce 8800GT, you may be able to take advantage of EVGA's Step-Up program which would make it cheaper for you to afford the GF2xx series cards.

Honestly speaking though, you really don't need a better video card yet. Your system is more than enough for any current and coming games in the near future. Unless you have the money and absolutely need the latest and greatest, you're better off being content with what you have.

If you can take advantage of EVGA's step-up, then it could be worthwhile, but if not, I'd avoid GTX 200-series cards like the plague, and go for a Radeon 4870 instead, or potentially a 9800GX2. Either of those beat the pants off of a 260, and sometimes even beat a 280, but are often cheaper than the 260.
