I'm interested in making myself some ears, a set of paws, and a tail.  The problem is I can't find a black-and-white stripe pattern anywhere.  Rather, I can't find white tiger fur.  I've found orange and a weird beige-y colour, but no black and white.  Any suggestions out there?

You could do it the hard way, and buy some white fur and some black fur, and sew pieces together in strips. Or you could try and dye black into white fur, but that would probably be really messy, and theres a chance that something horrible could go wrong, and ruin the fur...
Theres also the magic of the internet, and you could probably find some fake white tiger fur somewhere. A great site for fur is Prefurs. The stuff there is really expencive, but the fur is really good; High quality. But I'd only consider buying from there as a last resort, cause like I said, It's really expencive.
Good luck with your fur hunt  Smiley

Thanks a lot.  I think if push comes to shove, I'll have to spring for an airbrush machine.

If you're here in Canada, FABRICLAND!  Awesome place- most of anything you'd need to make danged near any oddness you could want, costume-wise.  Ask the staff for their fleece and faux fur sections.  Sometimes, they have in a wonderfully soft, short piled stuff in animal patterns- it's stretchy and very soft.  Perfect for plushies and tails.  Smiley  It's usually about $20 a metre, but look for their sales- the fleeces and softer plush furs usually get marked down around now to encourage the costumers and clothing-makers to buy for Hallowe'en and Christmas.

Heh- insider knowledge- I used to work at one in Winnipeg.

Cheers and good luck!

The fabriclands in Calgary usually have awful fur... However!  They got in a big shipment for halloween, and some of it is actually nice.

Tora!  get to Fabricland!
There's some nice white fur available for $33/meter, which would be great for making your tiger.  You can airbrush the stripes where you want them instead of trying to find white tiger striped fur.
And for the month of October all of the faux fur is 50% off!
