Trying out some digital painting effects, using acrylics for this one, along with the 'jitter' feature to get the cloudy effect. To try something different I took some shapes and made them into brushes. I also took charcoal drawings out of my sketchbook of the city and made brushes out of those too! Spamming people in the bottom right. I'm from the country, so I wanted to illustrate the sounds, energy, and turbulence I feel from the city life. We may explore the nooks and crannies of the lands we live in, but there will always be the mysteries which are hidden from our view. Thanks for looking!

An interesting conversation with another fur that's adamantly into astrology spawned this, I've never really paid much attention to it outside of admiring it for being interesting mythology. An image of a Goat Fish came into my mind when thinking about somebody close to me who has the capricorn star sign, and I figured it'd be fun to try it out and give it to her as a gift over the holiday! I tried a new type of paper with this, a 500 series bristol with a plate surface, had to use darker pencils such as 6B and 4B , used the book 'strength training anatomy' to really pay attention to muscles this time around.

Hmm, for some reason I must've missed this thread before... Awesome stuff, anyway! I really love the way the water looks in that last one as well as the translucency of the creature's dorsal... fan? Thing? Can't find the word, you know what I mean. Also, the one in your previous post of the sunlit forest with the underwater ruins really hit me. I really really love things like that, abandoned/hidden/unexplored places... fantastic. ~Josiah

The forest one I remember inking non stop all night. I'm kind of a detail whore. Thanks for the visit!

Wow, I must have missed this one, too! I'm not on too often, though, so serves me right. Your artwork is beautiful! I'm very impressed by the various styles you explore, and how well they come out as you explore them. Your attention to detail is wonderful, having full backgrounds to your characters, and it really looks more like a picture, a completed work of art, rather than a character reference (I'm a sucker for the character reference type, though). I'd love to see more! Do you have a devart page or anything?

No longer a DA page unfortunately, I took it down a few years back but I'm thinking of starting up a brand new page there in the summer. I keep another page at conceptart, though, I haven't updated it in several months. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=149455Happy browsing!

Lovely work, Dres! I'm suffering from 'internet overload' at the moment after a long break without, so I'll try to come in later on and post a comment or two.
Cheers! -Lady Serpent

Thanks for the visit Ladyserpent, and no worries we all have lives away from the internet! Your eyes dart rapidly from side to side in helpless sleep even as this creature stalks the depths of your subconsciousness, bringing with it mist and fog. Soon you will awake with it's hunt complete.

Wonderful work... I envy your level of talent... I can't even manage to draw a decent stick figure. Of course if I want to be creative I simply start writing something.
