Feeling old yet? Heheh... I may be even older, but I still get carded if I go someplace with a clean-shaven face... and even with the goatee, people still think I look like I'm in my mid-20s. I can deal with that! Benjamin

I'm still somewhat of the mistaken opinion that I'm getting 'old'. At 24, I still have a good large chunk of my life ahead of me, and plenty of years to have babies and make bad decisions.
But yeah, there are quite a few littl'uns in the fandom nowadays. Where did they all come from?

I can deal with that! Benjamin I can shave a few years off by being clean-shaven and add a few by letting it grow out. I never look my age.

My birthday was two weeks ago. How old I feel usually depends on my health at the time.

I think the way people feel 25-30-35 is OLD boggles my mind. Perhaps it's because my parents are older, but I have a very different perspective on what is old.. Then again, because of poor health (lack of excersize, terrible diets, chemicals..) People's life spans are getting shorter again. There is an increasing number of kids between I believe 8-12 yrs who are getting fatty liver disease (usually caused by alcoholism) because of all the sugar in their diets.
I have a frond who is 25, he feels he is old! My sister is almost 40, and I don't think she's old at all. I met a gentleman in the Yukon while backpacking who was 70-80 years old and he was in better shape than my friend and I, he canoes the Yukon river almost every year.
People have become obsessed with a perverse sense of youth and "beauty".. I think it's all balderdash. I have a friend who suffers from bulimia, she's super cool and openminded and could care less about her looks.. At least that's how she is on the outside, obviously all the stupid mediahype, celebrities, commercials pressure form every side has affected her.
In my women studies class, women thought I was BRAVE for not shaving my armpits and then revealing it to everyone as part of my oral project. All of them shaved, and all would feel uncomfortable if they didn't.
To me it's all connected. Our society is backwards.
Environment in trouble? Go shopping! Feel bad about yourself? Go Shopping! Want to be a better you? go shopping!
*sigh*

I have a frond who is 25 That's an old plant, indeed! True; we definately live in a consumer society. But, slowly, and in small bits here and there, people ARE getting better. It's starting to become more commonplace, and often a little easier, to avoid the blatant consumerism that we're all guilty of. Cheers, -Lady Serpent

From age to consumerism, yaaay. Still... umm... I had something but music killed my brain.
Consumerism bad! It's a conspiracy to make us waste money on stuff we don't need and make us all dependent on it and be unable to survive without it when the nuclear apocalypse comes.
...Yeah. Anyway, old is very relative indeed. Somedays I swear I have the memory of an old man... and my 50-year-old dad is in better shape than me.
Also, the idea of thinking of 25+ as old makes sense when you think of it this way: when you're a kid, that's old. When you hit that age or close to it, chances are there's still lingering traces of that child mindset, causing people to look at their age and think... "how the hell did I get HERE?"
...Oh, and... I promise I won't abuse that title thingie anymore XD;

I joined at 15. Don't judge me. 19 here, though I'm turning 20 at the end of the summer; truth be told, there's a certain sort of mystique in that where it seems like people will take you a hint more seriously. (Or at least, I'm out of the teenage years... something like that...). Though, granted, if there is a certain level at that point, I've never really noticed it - even people who know me quite well peg me as being in my early twenties based on behaviour and appearance. (Though yes, I still get carded.)

People who feel 'old' at 24-28 are usually people, like myself, who are still struggling to figure out what they're going to do with the rest of their (old) lives. ;P
I'm twenty-four, and I'm starting my first year of university this fall. I feel old because, well... most people get that stuff out of the way much sooner. So I know that by the time I'm done with my education, I'm going to be even older.

I'm 24 going on 25 near the end of the year... Most days I feel young and the others i feel like where my walker... I've been able to do things like go to the bar since i was 16 and never got carded.. So i guess that doesn't help... But seriously Age is what you make of it, Remember Your only as old as you feel.

All I really have to add here is that growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!
Now, at 22, I usually don't get carded at bars and restaurants, but I still do at liquor stores.

(Though yes, I still get carded.) I believe that this mistaken opinion is due primarily to the fact that I led a very sheltered childhood. I guess it's not so much that I feel 'old' as much as I feel like I've 'fallen behind'. I'm working to catch up, it's still an uphill battle though. I don't regret being the age that I am in the slightest.

I don't feel old so much as I feel that I'm a bit behind in things like child-ing. My mom was 18 when she had my older brother.
When I do remember my age, though (21, I think), I'm dumbfounded by how YOUNG I am. I feel at least 24.
