i install a new hd on the computer but it wont show, it is detected when i reboot but will now show.

any idea on what to do?

check the setting on the back. Should have a jumper of some sort on the back, that you can set for slave, boot or auto detect. Check the seating of the ribbon cable as well. *is not a computer expert*

it was auto detect, i need to format it but since he's go no letter like "C" or "D" i can't format it

In windows:
start menu > settings > control panel > administrative tools > computer management
You should see a spot called "Storage" and within that is "Disk Management." You should see the HD there, as long as the jumpers are correct, where you can assign it a letter and format it.

i got problem with a use HD, its the second time that the HD is no longer available and it freeze the com, i transfer what i care to my big HD but still that 80 gig is useful.

so is there anything i can do about that?

Try re-seating the cables. Often a cable that's just barely making contact will do this. If this doesn't work, however, it sounds like you've got a failing drive.

Download speedfan ( http://www.majorgeeks.com/download337.html ) and take a look at the S.M.A.R.T. data. It will give you stats about the functionality of all aspects of your drive. If anything looks out of whack, it could be an indicator of what's wrong.

the 80 gig seem ok, but my 200 gig seem to have a problem, but i don't know what it mean.
