I work full time at an electronics store. The Source by Circuit City. It's a fairly widespread chain that pretty much replaced the ol' Radio Shack chain a few years ago or so. I'm a sales rep. Our store is fairly slow compared to the others in region, due to us being in a bit of an awkward location... so I'm basically the quasi assistant manager. I've been working there for about eleven months now. It's minimum wage, plus spiffs and some commission if sales are strong enough. It keeps me fed and a roof over my head. Benjamin

If you consider being a parent a job... then I have a full time job with barely any vacations and no pay. A lifelong job.
If not, I am unemployed and going to school.

well m on social assistance i did work for about a week but my knee could not stand the lifting, i was working in a place where the sell cola, water, energy drink, juice ect to depaneur, small drug store ect, i was working in the warehouse filling the order of the client, and i work 1 day at petro canada but they required references from ex job witch i did not have and i did not like the kinda rules that was around 28 page of weird stuff, a client is call a guest and i think the employer or co worker where call psi (not psy). so now i apply for job in anything. i try Canadian tire but did not have the job, i try wall mart and no job. a place i apply they have 3 potion for job but you need to be able to lift in order for each job 25 50 and up to 75 pounds, i said no thanks, if i want to lift heavy charge i will go to work for movers and they pay a lot more. i did try some tim horton and no luck. so with a bit 565.50$ each month i don't go out since i need to pay the rent with my sister that is 900$/month

I know what you mean dude. Social assisstance only gives me 745.00 per month and I have a lot of bills to pay and I have a cub who is eating non-stop right now. Not nearly enough for anything.

Good stuff on the $14/hr, Wula. Nice to hear you're doing fairly well. Personally, I'm doing the 'Work till you drop' method right now of two jobs during the week (one monday-friday for 8hrs/day, the other saturday/sunday for 11.5hrs/day), then three other jobs in the evenings, because working 7-days a week just isn't enough. Was working on horticulture fieldwork (going out and working with plants and insects), but I recently switched to rattlesnake research up in the hills. Very pleased with the change. The weekend job is trapping mosquitoes for West Nile testing. In the evenings, I go out some nights checking bullfrog traps and changing the bait. Other nights we do frog call surveying; walking at night to listen for frogs. A few nights a week here and there, we're able to get out and do bat monitoring, which involves setting up nets and catching bats/recording data, and also wandering around in the dark with a GPS and a Bat Detector, so you can hear them calling supersonically and record the locations where you hear certain calls. Nothing else I'd rather do.. Good times. Nice thing about Biology is that other than being kickass and allowing you to be outside all day, you also get to drink a lot of beer. Cheers, -Lady Serpent

I am happily employed full time as the lead sound technician for a live stage/performing arts center. Pays the bills and keeps me busy. That's about it.

I work full time working at a college residence as the senior night auditor- meaning I always work the midnight shift (11pm to 7am). I do mostly acconting and desk work, while providing customer service for hotel guests (during the summer months) or student residents. It's not your typical customer service job- I have to enforce rules, like a controlled entry policy (no keycard, you don't get in), and a overnight guest curfew (no one who doesn't live in the residence can come in after 1am, without a resident filling out a Overnight Guest form before hand). Yep, it's a lot of enforcing bureaucracy that some students find too restricting and "dumb"- but they knew what they were getting into when they agreed to the Residence Contract (ignorance is not an excuse if they happen to forget to read the Contract ). The job gives me plenty of free time to do what I want (reading, writing, even drawing), and, essentially, I'm my own boss- I don't have three managers looking over my shoulder (I would if I worked day shifts- no way ). I have worked there for 4 years now, and I'm making $12 a hour, plus benefits (health plan, vacation pay, etc). My problem these days is that I'm not sure this is where I want as a "life time career"- but there are few similar jobs (that can pay me the same or more) in London. I'm getting tired of this scene, and I'm tired of dealing with drunk, rude students all the time. Just can't see where I can go from here...

Work full time at Electronic Arts as a Game Tester. Hours Mon-Fri 9-5:30, though there's been quite a bit of overtime lately... however its mostly by your choice, so don't believe any stupid stories about EA you've heard *chuckles*. I specialize in online testing for Playstation Portables but have worked with all other current-gen consoles, everything except PC games pretty much =P. When I'm not working online I'm doing graphic checks like menus, screen flow, level issues, gameplay logic, and much more. Pretty relaxed environment, lots of people working there so you get to talk to quite a number of co workers.

Currently, I'm at a call centre doing cargo booking and tracking for an airline in the States. But I'm also applying to the RCMP, and I'm almost done. I could be in training by Fall!

heh, I have like 3 jobs... well actually one is on hiatus for awhile... I work admin in the mornings at a valve supply company (though I don'tjust answer the phones, I do graphic design for their catalogues and advertisments, and I code their webpage). Then I do graphic design at home in the afternoons. Right now I am working on a graphi novel with a fellow from Edmonton, and I just finished an inking project with Zeroes to Heros.
I used to run an online comic store, however we shut down operations at the end of May. We are looking to open a real storefront, so we shut down the online store to save up for the real store ^_^
Once the store is up an running I can quit my other jobs and work full time at the comic store. Glee!

Full time as an audio visual technician.. trade shows and jazz at conference centres and hotels...
Fun and boredom all at the same time.
Do web design, coding, graphic editing, on the side, as well as autobody work, simple auto repairs.

Old comics are hard to come by, I will stock new furry comics though, and we will sell books on commission if you want to sell your own published works

I'm self-employed. Frankly, I don't do much of anything, but I hope to once I start advertising. Things are just going slow because I seem to take forever to do anything. For one thing, I'm typing all this up instead of working. Also, I like writing and drawing, and all that other sort of stuff, which takes up time and doesn't get me paid anything.
In the future, I'd love to publish my books and sell a thousand copies, but I don't expect to become the next J. K. Rowling. I also don't write enough to become a full-time writer. And my drawing sucks, though I'll probably become good enough to sell within the next year or two.
