Heyla! I'm new to the furry forum.. The title of my post is because I was logged out unbeknownst to me, and now I must re-type my message, which is a pet peeve of mine.. Though I can't blame technology this time really..  Tongue

Anyhow, I'm new to some parts of the community, but was destined to be a furry since I was a tot. I found furry's via the art, and I love the art.. Though I'd been howling, growling and pretending to be an Animorph/Redwall Resident/ Inhabitant of Nutwood or Rillonia long before. In elementary I did the Terry-Fox run on my hands and knees, and I'm sure my parents loved it when, as a tot, as soon as a kiddie harness was put on I was automatically tranformed into a canine. I'm a complete geek, very passionate about the environment, I'm a biology major and the oddest person I've met.

In case you wondered, my fursona hasn't "settled" so to speak.. I'd have an avatar of my own design, but the forum and I are still getting to know eachother or something.. (In other words it's rejected what I tried to load and hasn't told me why).. Though I do like otters.. And just about every other critter on the planet. From Guars to Tiger Beetles, Gastropods to Ungulates, Canines, Corbies, Chinchillas et-cetera! (with enthusiam!)

And so, strangely enough, I really have run out of things to say!  Cool
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome aboard!

Sounds like you'll fit in just fine around here. Wink

As for your avatar... make sure it's 100 by 100 pixels maximum, and then it should load up fine. The forum sets a hard limit on avatar size so it doesn't get abused, but it apparently doesn't have any error messages. I edited the profile skin to make up for that, at least. Wink

Welcome to the forums! Yeah... I hate when I type something in an anonymous account or something and it just... dies. Especially when it's LiveJournal and it croaks in between page loads, wiping the whole 5 pages of yammering that I'd been passionately filling out. Bah.

Regardless... *waves* Cheesy

Heh, heh.  Reminds me of the Buffy episode with the same title.  <3

You sound quite interesting, mate!  Welcome to the site.  I'm also majoring in biology, and your description surprised me, as you really sound a lot like myeslf.  What school are you going to?

Curiously; I've heard of Nutwood forest before, but I can't place it.  That's not from the 'Poppy' series, is it?

I also read animorphs quite readily, and actually just recently bought the entire boxed set.  Quite exited to start re-reading them at some point; it was such a fantastic series.

And, considering your tastes, I really would reccomend a book called 'FireBringer' by David Clement-Davies.  I just finished it, and it was absolutely fantastic.  One of the best I'd read yet since the 'Silverwing' series, (which is also great if you havn't read them yet, either).  It's a story based around deer, who call themselves Herla.  Just excellent; I think you'd quite enjoy it.

Your artwork is quite interesting; I'll save that comment for the post you've made in that section.

Good to meet you, though, mate.  I'm Sephren, and I don't have an entirely 'set' fursona either, although I tend to identify as a rabbit fairly often.  Hope you enjoy the forums.

Cheers,
-Lady Serpent

I'm at Ucalgary one more year to go(plus change I'm sure). I'd be done if I hadn't taken two years off or been unclassified for a year. Tongue Sephren are you leaning towards anything specific? Zoology, Vet School, Med School?? Myself I think I'm heading towards research in ecology, entomology or zoology... OR Conservation.

Nutwood is from Rupert the Bear (adventures of??). I spent my allowance on Animorphs all through Jr. High. I've got almost all of them, I'm re-reading them (again) to make sure they're okay for my niece and nephew.. I think they might be a little too old for my nephew, he's seven.. Ax is hilarious.. (I actually have the Andalite chronicles too, and would like to get the Horkbajir (sure that's spelled wrong) Chronicles etc.) I refuse to read megamorhps though. Box set must be huge.

I have read Silverwing, but there were a couple things I disliked, though it is a great story. (I didn't like the innacurate protrayal of tropical bats.. It's been a long time since I've read it, but I recall I was quite unhappy about that as most if not all large tropical bats are gentle frugivores!!) Mayhap I'm just silly. I'll have to look into the Firebringer one, I have heard of it.. (I used to work in a book store and my Mom's an elementary teacher, so I got exposed to a lot of great books).

By the by, I absolutely love Wastership Down, book and movie. (And Bright Eyes is an awesome song). I'll have to post pictures of "my" rabbits, I raised rabbits for a Wildlife Centre while I was living in Ontario a while back. We weren't supposed to get attached to them but ah.. We named every single one! (After characters from Firefly, Farscape, Gilmore Girls and Watership Down).

Thankee for the warm welcome all! It may take awhile for me to get to know all of you, especially since I have a bad habit of reading posts and not reading who wrote it. Tongue But I'm trying to make a point of noting who writes what.

(Thanks for the Lolipops too!) Hahaha, good thing their virtual, I always hurt the roof of my mouth on them.  Ugh

Ah, Animorphs... I remember reading those books obsessively years ago. And as I recall, you got it right 'cept for the hyphen, which isn't really wrong ^.=.^;

Welcome from a fellow newbie! Have some cinnamon bun-zuh! ^.=.^
