So, eh... We're coming up to that special time of the year where we Canadians get abnormally patriotic and go out and blow shit up in the name of peameal back bacon and our geographically-given right to call a couch a chesterfield! Fuckin' eh! Happy Canada Day, eh! (Ya hosers...) So, eh... What're some of the things that make you proud to be Canadian? It's time to share 'em here, so we can wave our flag with pride and burst at the seams with poutine all to the theme of 'Snowbirds' by Anne Murray! (Well, err... Okay, I'll scratch out the Anne Murray part, but you get the frickin' idea...) Be proud Canadians! And share with us just why you are so! Benjamin

Beer. Local, handmade, craft-brewed beer.
And the Rockies.

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader.... I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled.... and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada, although I'm certain they're really really nice.
I have a Prime Minister, not a president. I speak English and French, not American. And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe in peace keeping, not policing, diversity, not assimilation, and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal. A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!
Canada is the second largest landmass! The first nation of hockey! and the best part of North America
My name is Joe!! And I am Canadian!!!
Yeahh.. that pretty much sums it up lol!

Oh, I think most any Canadian from across this great nation would agree that the Hockey Night In Canada theme serves as our second national anthem. There is probably nothing more widely recognised in Canadian culture, including poutine and beavers! Benjamin

I'm proud that our country actually still has wilderness and wildlife left, that we have a civil society that is concerned about it and whose voice is growing stronger.
I'm proud that we still have indigenous cultures and that some are willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us.
I'm proud that we have such a high-standard of living and that I can go to university to pursue my life goals, even if I don't really care for the debt that comes with it.
I'm proud of our diverse culture and one of relative acceptance (I was pleasantly surprised how much Torontonians are proud to have pride week), even if not everyone feels accepted sometimes.
I'm proud of our armed forces, who put their lives on the line for countries hamstrung by violence in the hopes they'll be able to progress peacefully.
I'm proud of our hockey program, which still produces the greatest talent in the world.
I'm definitely proud to be a Canadian and thankful for what this country has to offer. I'll gladly sew the maple leaf on my backpack when I head to Thailand in September.

all to the theme of 'Snowbirds' by Anne Murray!
How aboot I just crank up " Canada" by Devin Townsend instead, eh? (Can't seem to find a youtube vid of that one. Apart from this really crappy one.) While I'm not exactly sure what it is about Canada that I'm proud of, I was proud enough to join the Canadian Forces to serve and defend this great country of ours. Either that, or I just wanted a decent career with a good pension without having to go to college.

Me, I'm proud of being in a nation I can actually live in, that doesn't make me want to leave as soon as I can...
That we have an anthem I can actually feel good being patriotic about and standing for...
Colourful currency!
That I can be proud to be Canadian anywhere and not be looked down on for being from an asshat country...
Our diversity, in the people and the land...
And, most all, you guys! [/blatant suckup]

Don't get me wrong, I love being a canadian as the next guy but I just have never felt thew need to celebrate.
What makes me proud to be a Canadian? That we have a smarter government than the US. I'm not calling our government smart... just smarter.
Sorry to all the people from the US that are on here!

Oh, since I haven't said much on the topic yet... Things that make me proud to be Canadian! They are... - A very modern and unique flag to honour.
- We spell by the proper English rules.
- Our standards of living and quality of education are amongst the highest in the world...
- Our sense of diversity lets us enjoy many cultures in our own home towns. The variety available in foods alone certainly helps keep things interesting.
- We tend to have a high level of tolerance for our fellow humans.
- Interesting innovations, like hockey, basketball, the snowmobile, insulin, etc...
- Health care for all!
- Multi-coloured money!
- Well-respected on an international level.
- Excellent representation in Hollywood, in the form of top notch comedians and acting talent!
Well, that's a start... and so I'll add more in later if I can remember 'em. Benjamin

Even though we sometimes are the butt of a lot of jokes, we can take it and laugh at ourselves. "Ok sure, we (America) don't call all the time to see how you're doin', like our little brother Canada, who has never had a girlfriend. I'm just sayin..." -Homer Simpson to the Queen of England "Oh, it's easy to miss Canada, all tucked away down there." -Homer Simpson "We moved here from Canada, and they put me in this class because they think I'm slow, EH?" -Kid in Bart's special-needs class
