So since they told me to put my art up here and I had just finished wrapping my first commission up I though eh, might as well toss 'er here.

Did this for twenty dollars, coloring shading and everything include. Not a bad start I reckon... for me that is.

I appreciate any helpful tips from you more experienced sorts! I'm still a bit F.O.B. when it comes to this art thang.

...if you can call about a years or so worth of stuff F.O.B... I still do since I'm kinda lazy when it comes to actively drawing and practicing...

lookin' pretty good, the shading is great, but i would have put a little more definition into his abdomen. the markings look like they must have taken a fair bit of time to do, you have patience my friend...

looking forwards to seeing more of this

Yeah, the shading and the markings are wonderfully done; The only thing I'd recomend is to spend some more time on muscle definition; Just that extra 'oomf' to bring your work to life.
That being said, Continue on with the great work Cheesy

Thanks for the advice!

Actually i regard doing fur patterns my 'chillout sort of moment, since really once you learn the pattern, it's just repetition, and hey if you get into that sort of groove it doesn't become a matter of patience since you are enjoying it. At least, that's how I look at it. XD

Yeah muscle anatomy and definitions are something I really struggle with, i think I'm getting a grasp of the arms and legs but, as for the chest I couldn't for the life of me draw something that didn't look awkward.

Would you recommend any sites, books, or tuts for studying that?

Thanks for that! I appreciate it, though I was looking mainly for muscle tutorials specifically, I already do the base and skeletal modelling for my drawings anyway... I just need to practice defining muscles. And that's my problem. Practicing. It's hard to really find a good location where I can be in the mood to draw...my room is right above the TV so the floor shakes constantly with the base.

You're friend is really good though, I see how that tutorial can be quite helpful.

And yes, drawfurry was actually one of the first sites I used when I started drawing XD

Wow, thats pretty cool. For the longest time I wanted to be a commission artist, but I found when someone paid me for something I'd get way too nervous and frustrated trying to give them the best possible picture.
I couldn't handle the pressure I guess haha, but great work. Its certainly nice to get paid doing something you like. :3

Keep it up, hope to see more :3

The chest shading actually looks fantastic.  The different grey tones really add to it.  A similarly shaded line down the middle of the belly might have added the illusion of abs without too much extra effort.

The way the spots gradually shift in size, and cleverly wrap around the edges of the tail and other edges is exquisitely done.  There definitely seems to be a handle on fur patterning.

Great leg poses and toe shading on the left foot (right side of page).  Suggestions?  The inner ears might benefit from being shaded more darkly next time, to give the impression that they're more three-dimensional.  With just the small strip of shading on the inner edge, with the rest in lighter tones, they look to be rather thick on the inside.

Overall, looking very good, mate.  Love those spots and the high contrast and low detail of the shorts.  Bold and effective.

Looking forward to seeing more.
