So I'm probably moving to the Nanaimo area after the summer and I'm curious if any furs there are still active. I'm also curious as to where the average fur goes in Nanaimo, besides the mall and the movies. It would be great to get some meets going again, however no one wants to drive all the bloody way out to Port Alberni for a meetup. XD

Wow, haven't seen you in quite a while there, Golawaya. We met once at an old VI Fur meet down at Beacon Hill Park 4 or 5 years ago, but yeah, I've got family up that way that I visit frequently. We should get a meetup going sometime. :3

Is anyone on the Island going to RainFurrest this year? I need a ride if possible or I'll just have to taxi/ferry it over blah! I'll pitch in for gas. Also, I'm willing to share a hotel room.
I'll be bring only a tail/paws as I don't have a updated suit. I'm a light packer too.
I'll be going as a girl most likely*gasp* I know right? I have a new female fursona, Alanna. **Being Alan makes me really sad as its finally gotten to the point in life where I have to give up the dream of it becoming a reality (if something awesome happens, then I might try Alan again...)
I don't think this site is really actively run as I applied for a new account under Alanna, but never got an answer back..

Is anyone on the Island going to RainFurrest this year? I certainly hope there is. The new avatar looks pretty sharp. Hm.. Yea, I sympathise. Good to hear that you're going the route that at least makes you mentally comfortable. Being all right in your own skin is the main thing, really. None of us are the perfection that we want to be, so we have to just be all right with what we are. Personally, I just head over the bridge of androgyny. (Not that I want to identify with being male, I just lack the desire to want to identify with being any specific gender at any given moment).

I hope so too! Though if anyone's going through Vancouver, I'm willing to met them over there too. More hoping for a roommate then a ride, since I can just take the ferry/taxi if I have to...
Thanks, its by an artist called Etuix.
I'm sad to give up the idea of being Alan, but it was try to be Alan or lose everything important to me. Being Alan would allow me to have intimate relationships & feel safer/independent more-so, but I can't work/live my life the way I want as a male, plus I'll never look male..so I'll settle for being a single pretty female with friends instead... I couldn't pull off androgyny like you can, you're so pretty

I couldn't pull off androgyny like you can, you're so pretty Awwrr! You're so sweet. To be quite honest, I thought you pulled it off rather well, especially from some of the pictures you've taken over the years. Gender is such a ridiculous dividing line as it is. I honestly can't really 'get away' from it in normal society either; it'll be what it is, people assume what they want, and unless you're willing to go the whole way and live (and strive to look) like the opposite gender entirely, you generally just end up going with whatever. I tend to not share a lot of 'typical' female traits simply because I choose not to live that way, but I don't especially strive to have male traits, either. Whatever works for each person, I guess. I'm personally more into an overall lack of gender roles than trying to be like what one or the other is 'supposed to be'. That's the whole problem; there are expectations from society and from people's upbringings that we often feel we need to live up to, whatever direction they pull us, and that's where the uncertainty and self-doubt can come in. You're good looking and a fantastic person either way; your gender means nothing (to me) other than your happiness for whatever direction you choose to go. <3 [/threadjack] -LS
