Furskate - the furmeet with skating - is happening Saturday May 21st!
The main thread for Furskate is on the BC Furries boards:
http://www.bcfurries.com/forum/index.php?topic=3616.0You don't have to register for BCF, but I recommend checking that site from time to time before the event. I will mirror all announcements on this forum.
Furskate is NOT just skating, it is a furmeet with optional rollerskating or rollerblading. This is an open event to all who wish to attend, and is an all ages event. Everyone is welcome and fursuits are encouraged. We will have all four change rooms, plus the whole rink to play in. However, this event is not free, there is a $10 cover charge for everyone.
DJ Akonite will be gracing us with his awesome oontz powers, and we will have dance floor space on the rink! No skates required!
There has also been a request for pot-luck food! You are all encouraged to bring munchies to share! Even if we end up with a mountain of chips, it is still welcome!
Whatever you wear has to be suitable for all-ages. Also your action/language should also be suitable for an all-ages event. If I have to, I will ask people to leave if their actions or behavior are deemed offensive. However, I do
not want to have to do this ever.
If you are planning to skate, please bring at least knee pads and wrist guards. One of the main reasons we moved to a private rink rental was because people were getting hurt at public skates. Even if you are an experienced skater, I highly recommend you bring padding. I am.
