Two dollar badges.

Hi everyone! (cross posted on another forum) I feel like I need more practice drawing faces (and I am super poor right now), so I am offering badges for two dollars (or whatever you want to offer me, trade, whatever). I don't know where to find the little clippy things though, and I don't have access to a laminator. If anyone knows where I can find little plastic sleeves I would be very grateful.

I've got a rough sketch done. Let me know if there are any changes you'd like me to make. Keep in mind I've never really done wings or digigrade legs, so thats why they may look a little funny. Still playing around with it ^^;

It's science, really.

Lovely work, for both of you.  Nice subtle smile on TJ, and the bangs and facial symmetry work well.  The angle and style of the writing is effective, too.  Looks pretty good, Daakshi.

TJ:  Interesting feathering on the wings.  It seems to work rather well with those shadows, though if I were offering a suggestion it would be to feather the pointed wing tip a bit more, to allow it to look more bird-like and less dragon or reptilian.  (Or bat, if you must stick with the mammalian line of thinking.) 

Curves of the breasts and the ribs look good.  The feet are well-structured and, dare I say it, a little cute.  The face is well-drawn.  Bringing that leftmost iris and pupil just a little more to the left would bring her gaze more directly at the viewer.  Maybe even drop it slightly, as she's fairly close to looking at 'us', but it's just a tad high, making her almost have the appearance of a gaze that's slightly skyward instead of focused on us.  (And on us it should be, in all our dashing revelry!)

Great job experimenting with tougher poses.  Putting the arms behind the head always draws the torso up in an attractively tight way, and it's a tricky one to pull off.  Making the arms just a tad smaller and shorter for next time (most specifically in the more hidden forearm, which seems slightly wider than might be natural) would give a more proportional appearance compared to the legs and body.  The angle, though, seems quite right and the shoulder and neck blend into the body rather effectively.  Adding lines for the armpit may make that transition even smoother.  The muzzle and chin lines look well-shaped.

I had a change of plans this afternoon, and with busy times ahead, I decided to get it done today:



I just added the effects for fun, I have versions with blank and transparent backgrounds if you wish to change it. (I'm not too good at backgrounds, so I went with something abstract ^^;)

Haha, you completely nailed the hair.



Colours look great; spot-on.    I dig it.  Nice uniformity on the teeth.  Thanks; it really looks pretty swell.

TJ:  The changes you made to the wings are very decent; their anatomy is much more smooth in the finished version.  Did you create that moon?

Thanks! I'm glad I got the hair right. ^^ I used to have my hair cut like that. I'll just stick a reference picture up here so anyone else can look at it if they want.



Feel free to make the blue hair spikier or whatever. The ref doesn't have wings, but I'm not really particular about them. (and they wouldn't be in a badge )
