This is a chalk pastel pic, and it scanned horribly. It looks better in person, the colours show up more, etc. Does anyone have advice on how to scan chalk pastel pics into the computer? Would it work better to just take a photo of it with a digital camera? I guess I'll have to experiment.

Anyway, here's the pic.

Chalk pastels are tough to scan effectively.  The best you can do is make solid colours and lines by going over them darkly, and hope that they scan accurately.

They seem to give a softened appearance, though, which certainly isn't all bad.

You've got a great way of expressing kindness and soft emotion with those expressive eyes.  I'd love to see more; always happy to look at practising artists, and, of course, rabbits.

If I were to offer a suggestion on this one, it would be to face the left foreleg (the one in the background) more towards the right side of the page by putting the lines that divide the toes more towards the right of the foot.  (They look like this:  '( l l )' , but they could look more like this:  '  (  )))  '

The tail could actually be more 'puffy' or shorter to give more of a rabbit-like appearance, as well.  The ears, muzzle and head are well-shaped and effectively proportioned to give a rabbit-like look.

Good stuff, looking forward to seeing where you go.

Cheers;
