Hey there, all; I have a proposition for you. I'm looking to get some sketch practice in. These won't be polished, finished drawings, they'll just be doodles that flow from ideas that come forward. So, you'll have to provide your fursona description, with as much detail as you want to include. I may not draw everything accurately, but it'll be along the lines of your description, or at least inspired by what you're saying. You could write a huge paragraph, or just say 'I'm a skinny, male blue dragon.' and I'll run with it. The only criteria are that you also must post something about yourself that's strange, odd, or interesting, state your favorite colour and why, and you must also pose a question at the end for the next person to answer. For example: My name is Sephren. One odd thing about me is that I always eat my pizza backwards, because my favorite part is the very centre, which I save for last. My favorite colours are black and green, because green is the colour of nature and the wilderness, and black counts for all things dark, misunderstood, and to do with the night.
Fursona description: (Insert fursona description here)
Question: What would you rather do; be at the beach at night, or be around a campfire? The more open-ended and interesting the questions, the better. Answer the question from the person above you. Feel free to play. I may not get to the sketches right away, but I hope to be in here every few days with an update or two. Also, if there are things that aren't accurate in your character, feel free to play again, and point out those things. Feel free to post comments without any of the other stuff; the criteria are only for people who want to get in on a sketch. (The first question is the one I asked.) -Lady Serpent (Sephren)

Ah, and for those of you who haven't seen me draw, my style can occasionally be quite 'beast-like' or violent. (Snarly, dripping fangs and the like, sometimes.) If you REALLY don't want your character portrayed in any random way that I come up with, let me know. I do a lot of 'were-creatures'.
Cheers; -Sephren

Why thank you, Lady Seph, don't mind if I do. ^.~
My name is Ruby. One odd thing about me is that I am a walking contradiction. I go to concerts and mosh with the big boys, but I bake really awesome desserts. I swear like a drunken sailor, but everyone comes to me for relationship advice, or when they are feeling down. I often look quite harsh and intimidating, but little old ladies and children love me. Etc.
My favorite colours are blood red and silver, because red is the colour of passion, anger, and fire, and because silver is undeniably poetic in nature.
Fursona Description ~ Female calico housecat, all 4 paws are white, right arm is white to mid forarm, left is white to almost the elbow, white chest and stomache, white muzzle. Rich dark orange on the top 70% of the back of my left ear, remaining portion and right ear dark ashy gray. Right shoulder is dark orange with an ashy gray rectangle running lengthwise from crown of shoulder to top third of bicep. Right half of my face is ashy gray, left half is dark orange. Tip of my tail is white, with one thin white stip ringing my tail about half way down, the rest is striped and blotched dark orange and ashy gray. I have vivid green eyes and a pink nose. I also have deep red hair, between chin length and shoulder length. I am tall and, lets say, a little squishy around the midsection, with a large bust and a wide rump.
Question ~ Is faith more valuable than hope, or just more fashionable?
Looking forward to what you come up with.

i'm game..... lets seeeeee. odd thing about me... i have conflicting music tastes. i am a total death metalhead, but i still listen to hard dance music.... a lot. i cant grow a beard to save my life, i have one hell of an imagination, i just have trouble getting ideas to paper. i think that hope has more value than faith, probably because i have none (pesy alert). rather, i hope for things to happen. less disappointment when they don't. favourite colour is black. most people seem to think of black as an absence of all colour, but i see it as the presence of all colours together.... being a metalhead probably influenced my choice too my fursona is fairly easy. basic cougar markings, glasses with no eyes (use the eyebrows and ears to express emotion), dreadhawk (brown, just shy of shoulder length), ALWAYS smoking (i'm thinking of revoking the "no visible mouth" rule), and death metal band shirts. tall (6'3" to 6'5") and medium to light build. aaaand the question. "will you answer 'no' to this question?" jk if you were blind (for lack of a better word), would you rather everything be white (like the matrix loading program "guns, lots of guns")? or black?

Sure! Great idea Lady S! My name is Daakshi (or Teegwa, depends on how I'm feeling). Hmm... odd thing... I kinda feel like I am an "old soul"... Almost as if my body does not match my soul inside, and I am just pretending to be only seventeen. My favorite colors are blue and green, because they are the colors of water, and I feel much more at home in the water than on land. Fursona description: A typical grey wolf, with a blue curl of hair between her ears and golden eyes. I am fairly short (about 5'3"), and rather curvy. Answer to puma's question: I'd much rather black... white hurts my head and gives me headaches. Question: To you, what does love mean? (yay valentine's themed)

I'm in!
My name is TJ Bluevulpine. Something odd about me: I used to have recurring dreams about strangely figured giants silhouetted against the night sky, towering over the forests where I grew up as a kid, and to this day I still wonder what they looked like.
My favorite colours are a tossup between orange, because I always have been fond of it, and green, because it is the colour of my favorite stone, which is emerald.
My fursona is a red fox, with blue hair and glasses, green eyes, hair that defies gravity and parts in the front, no black socks or black ear tips. Wears a variety of things, but has a laid back style. He can be quite mischievous at times, and has a fondness for adventure.
To answer Daaksi's question: Love in the romantic sense is a term I find to be overused and under appreciated. Aside from that, I don't really know what it means to be honest. I don't think I've ever truly felt that way towards a person. :3
And now for my question, I ask: What is your favorite time of the day, and why?

Here'es the first one. I wasn't sure if the orange description carried onto the whole upper left arm or if it included some black as well, so I left it in the 'orange' tone. I can certainly go back and add/change markings if they're not quite as you picture them. On another note, it is very difficult for me to draw 'curvy'! I've only ever referenced off myself and my penchant for skeletons, so it's definitely tricky. If you'd like changes in body hape, let me know. I'd be more than happy to try and sketch more of what you're imagining in your head if it's different than what I've drawn here. It's a nice challenge. I would have drawn clothes as I did have some in mind, but I was having far too much fun with my attempt at curves. Critique is always more than welcome. Cheers; -Sephren

I Ceratinly don't need to be sketched right away, but I've you want a little practice go for it ^^
Well, one thing about me is that I analyze certain sensations. For example, extereme cold.I understand it as cold but what is it really? What I noticed is that cold is actually painful and another feelings I've yet to put am name to.
My favorite color is most likely a very rich, deep purple or a deep forest green. I love rich tones.
Fursona: Well, a Eurasian lynx and a wolf ((of some breed, haven't truelly committed to Artic wolf)). Has hazel/green eyes, 5'11 tall, has a ruler-hourglass build and basically is me XD So you have a great amount of artistic freedom with this,so long as she has a resemblance to myself. The snout is slender but relatively short, and the eyes and ears are feline. The tail is a cross between canine and feline. Markings aren't ridiculously complex in any way.((Should you choose to put them)) Theres a barcode with a star next to it on her butt XD That's it!
Answer: I love the time from about five AM till the sunrises, because the world is just starting and I have the full day to enjoy.I also love the darkness with the promise of light on the horizon.
Question: What is one problem in the world that you want to fix. ((Could be anything))

I guess I could jump aboard. Something strange about me? hm *chuckles* I'm 100% strange. But if I would pick, one thing that I tell people that I get a "wtf/wth" reaction. Well it's that I have this starnge feeling, something is off, or something Grand will happen in my lifetime, and I am here to see it through, for it will effect almost everyone not just myself. And I can not say what it is, and it's hard to explain all the details, but to sound cheesy, I'll know when it comes. My Favourite Colours, is a Forest Green and Ocean Blue. Forest Green reminds me of the wilderness of the land, and the Ocean blue reminds me of a vast unexpored area that can hide almost anything. Fursona: Well it's a mix of European Grey Wolf with European Fox. Colours are Grey/White/Black. Sea Green Eyes, 6'4 with a Strong Noble stance. Fox like ears white tip, Fox tail White Tipped with grey. Markings on face are hard to explian so Headshot --> http://niegelvonwolf.deviantart.com/gallery/28100875#/d33uc0iA cartoony version of my Fursona http://niegelvonwolf.deviantart.com/favourites/?offset=48#/d363nc3 (draw by a friend) Answer to the Question: The Human condition/Civilization Experiment. For the past tells us how to lay the Furture out. Question: Do you know your purpose in life? If so what? is not, then why? if still searching, Then what is the quest?

You did an absolutely lovely job, Lady Seph!
I only have one small critique, and that is; the ears are a touch too tall and narrow, they read as slightly more canine to my eyes.
However, don't you change a thing! I adore the shading, the posture, the curvature of the tail. You did a fabulous job on the musculature as well. And, did I see you say something about having too much fun drawing curves to add the theorized clothing?
I'm glad for that, because you did a wonderful job with the curves. ^.~
Thank you so much!
PS
There was one other small detail you forgot, and it just jumped to mind.
You forgot to sign it! <3

Awrr.. Yea, I don't usually sign in my own sketchbook. And actually, I don't usually sign at all, unless it's hidden in a finished painting, (or in something being given to someone for the contact info's sake), because I don't necessarily believe in taking 'ownership' of what I draw. I'm vehemently opposed to developing an artistic ego. I can see what you mean about the ears. If I get a chance, I'll surely do a bit more sketching to get something more catlike. Yea, definitely too many fun curves to add clothing. I'm generally much more interested in drawing body forms than clothing. (Although I can always make an exception for drapery; J'adore!) Thanks for the feedback. Glad you dig it. Cheers; -Sephren

Giri: I'll be gone for the next few days, until Monday, so I won't be able to do any others for a bit. Feel free to post a description, though, and I can try to get back to it later on if I get time between midterms. Thanks, all, for the practice. It's all very much appreciated. If you have anything that you think could be drawn better, let me know. (Not quite so much in regard to the character descriptions themselves (although I'd like to hear that, too, if it's off), but what is really helpful is if you see anything that looks like it could be fixed or improved on.) Hope you enjoy! Cheers; -Lady Serpent

The hell they are! They're not even close to adult. Unless you count 'fuzzy breast shapes' as pornography. O_o That's actually pretty ridiculous. Unless they just misinterpreted Giri's picture, which *could* be pornographic if you looked at it completely wrong.
Anyways, I can't seem to get them to upload anywhere else, so I might try again before I take off tomorrow. We'll see if they stay up. Way too much work to fight such a silly system.
Hope to get them up soon; -Sephren
