Hey everyone. There used to be quite the group of furs on the island here, and we used to have meets that were even frequented by Vancouver furs. Alas, things have sort of dissolved around here as of late, and ever since we had the idea of another Island FurBQ fall through, I'd been thinking it's high time we had a get together in town here.
Not sure really where or what. We had an outdoor meet last summer, but right now it's a bit chill and wet for that sort of fun. Just figured I'd throw it out there and drum up some interest/ideas.

I agree.
I was pretty bummed out that we couldn't get another Island FurBQ going last year, but dammit, your right!
V.I used to have so many of us, and we did have some pretty good meets. We should have another get together. :3
How about maybe looking into doing something down in Victoria? I'm not sure what we could do, maybe go see in some sites, terrorize people and take in a movie perhaps?
It would be a great chance to see some of the furs down island. :3
Its much nicer in the warmer seasons, just because getting together is much easier, but until then, we need to get something going! :3

I know that Kori Collie is coming back to the island with the hopes of reviving some mid island meetups. Should be good times indeed, however I still think we should try to get down to Vic for a meetup. I MISS TONK! (Not in a don't ask, don't tell sort of way haha  ) So come on VI Furs, lets do something! :3 |

Mhmm, well I'll be back on the island come of Sept 3rd. I'll have the basement of my parent's house on thier farm...so if everyone doesn't mind driving to Duncan, we could have meets there or outdoors in the big barn loft for a outdoorsy furry feel?
I won't be doing much for the 1st until Januaray other then trying to get my eyes fixed & get my full car license.
I really really miss hanging out with folks, those Nanaimo furmets were so awesome!

Hey everyone  It's been forever since I’ve posted on here due to being incredibly busy as of late. I got permission from my folks to host something at their house this summer. That would give us a very decent amount of space(possibly more than the hotel) for free. It also borders a bigass park and is about a 2min drive from a decent beach if it is bloody hot again this summer. The only disadvantage of hosting it here is the slightly rural location making late night coffee runs a little more difficult. If this turns out to be a success I will probably turn it back into a monthly or bi-monthly event again . I know that a good number of people who attended before are not very flexible time wise or have moved off island. Please let me know what dates would work for you around july or august. As far as snacks and beverages go I will probably buy and accept any money or nom donations like we did before. I don't have any issue with adult beverages. However since this is my folks place I would like to know who will be attending first. I will be checking this thread from time to time. But if you want to get in touch quickly I check my email(removed. PM me) a few times a day and am on messenger regularly. |

I was just thinking our biggest problem for meetups is that we don't really have a place to have a get together, so this is awesome. :3

I had completley forgotten that Tonk is in Ladysmith... a place I drive by almost daily @.=.@, on the plus side, that would be the easiest meet to get to EVER XD

I will be setting an official date at the end of June or a little after. I just bought a hella riced impreza 2.5RS so i can probably ferry a few people around this time . Edit: I spoke with torwin recently and there is a chance he could make it over as well! |
