Well, I didn't see the show (no cable/satellite), but it looks like there may be cause for complaint after all, besides whatever was immediately apparent:

I'd say the show's subject probably won't be seeing much commission revenue for a while, but that might be an understatement... and when I say "might be", that also might be an understatement (and so on).

I watch the show, it was boring, but now this info makes it funny. I wonder how this will all play out? Will this artist sue for the money Kira got on the show? hmmmm. *grabs popcorn* are we still alowed to feed people to the Lions? Tongue

Well this is what happens when you make a spectial of yourself. I saw the show and wow, she made it look like she wore her suit all the time and her family all thouight she was crazy. It was so werid, they even had a mini intervention for her. Wow, just wow, the couch eater did make the furry look not as bad, consider she was dying from it.

Anyway....

Yea....that definately is messed up. Fursuits are great, but wearing one all the time?

Thanks for the link Kapitan.

It seems like she does need a little help, especially since she feels so attached to it. I wouldn't wear one on a family outing, that's family time :/

I think part of what she did was just for the show.

Most likely, but you never really know.
Some of the footage loks very recent,it looked like at one point she was still working on her suit
I'm pissed about her stealing that artwork though :/

That episode could of been a helluva lot worse.

Ah, yes...
Nothing quite like the manufactured outrage one sees in the fanDUMB.  I've been around furdom for fourteen years now, and it's always an eye-opener every time it happens.
No matter how you slice it, there's always some hard-core irony in being shunned from an already shunned group.  Just ask some of the 'shun-ees' of the past, such as Sibe, Assinio, Divefox, Nekobe, and Jayren (if you can find them)  Tongue

so we need to organize TV better.

I wholeheartedly disagree.  I think, if anything, this is just one more reason NOT to watch TV.  Smiley

Don't forget the party whistle.  Wink

I just finished watching the video.  She seems like a nice gal who's just in the 'honeymoon' stage of the fandom.  She's still very young, as well.  This is the stage she can do that kind of thing in public and get away with it.  I used to do the same with the goth thing.  Now, I keep it to places I can express that kind of thing without catching too much of the public's eye, because we usually hit a point in our life where our professional reputation requires us to stay at least a little bit hidden.  We can be 'abnormal' on our own time.  And surely, we will.  Smiley

I certainly don't see this being any worse than the purposely shocking CSI episode, or a number of other examples of negative fandom coverage.

Her boyfriend definitely seems to be doing it for the LOL's.  Smiley

Interesting topic.  Certainly nothing to go drama-happy over, though there are many smallish things that cause parts of the fandom to get up in arms like that.

Cheers;

*sigh*

Well...you know...as it much as it pains me to say this...
They ARE kinda right if she wears her fursuit to EVERY social event.
I mean, that DOES sound like an unhealthy addiction...

I just don't hope that they do the whole, "Furries are people who think they are animals so they dress like them and do this thing called scritching to make themselves feel better about being stuck in a human body or whatever"

I personally would never where a fursuit, but to those out there who do:

That may be, but any company with a big grinning cutsey fox with a rainbow flag stapled to it's back couldn't possibly legally have a company BBQ to begin with... X3

You just never know these days.  Smiley  Would probably be good for attracting attention, if not business.
