read this and see

this is so offensive, this is just more bs giving furs a bad name. Making us look bad, just for something we enjoy doing that doesn't harm anyone, not even ourselves.

Ah yes, Can't wait to see that, should be a good Laugh! XD

Already been discusing this on another forum, and Apperently she's just an Attention W****. She has Already stirpped everything from Her FA and Youtube. And Already the Fandom has begun it's Defense. She's being shut out of all the groups she's in and The Flack is goin up to shoot down anything she says.
Some have already agreed the Fandom can take this little thing. And Far worse has aired on T.V. Some (like me) Are laughing at it, for how stupid it is.

It is funny, the show had a few other really funny things on it.

People who eat soap, chalk, toilet paper. Body builders who work out 6-8 hours a day, many people who do competitions do that. People who tan all the time, this only lady was inlove with puppets and wouldn't go anywhere without one, she talked to them and everything. nThey even had a crazy cat lady.

Its funny yes, but at the same time it just plain sad that they could make a show at all.

LOL thats so mean, shutting her out of the fandom entirely, its not her fault that tlc changed thigns around to make her look bad, yes at the same time should of known that she show was about addictions and all. But still I'm sure she loves the fandom, just like all of us, and still they are kicking her out of it.

I don't beleive it's fair to kick her out of the fandom. Not yet anyway! Shouldn't we see how she acts first? People shouldn't jump the gun.

However,I'm amused and yet wrorried about what is going to happen! What did she say,how did she act? Is she obbessive or just a typical suiter?

SO MANY QUESTIONS

Didn't think the furry fandom was such an interest that TLC wanted to cover it.  No more interesting to me than some Star Trek fans hanging out.

Ja, some people are jumping the gun becuase of older things. Me, I just think it's a funny little show, And considering the other half of the Episode is on a guy who eats Couch Cushions. In my opinion that will over shadow the Fursuiter. Tongue

It's not just TLC. Discovery, History, Space, Teletoon, TVtropolis, and Many many more are just insulting us. What happened to good shows and good TV? instead of all this reality junk and miserable news. TV sure has gone even more down hill.

Why is HISTORY showing shows like Pawn Stars, and American pickers? so what they get some old junk, History should show shows that tell of the old times!

Discovery has gone downhill to, Ice Road Truckers? Cash Cab? Why are these shows on a Science(ish) Channel?

TLC? Dosn't that mean The Learning Channel? when was the last time they had an Educational Program on it?

Space? why are you remaking British shows? are you running out of Sci-Fi/Fantasy Stuff?

I could go on and on, On how all these channels have sold out or just sucked. But that's going of topic. Tongue

@ Kap,

ice road truckers is on history.

shows on discovery don't have to be scienceish, its classed as an informative channel, and shows like cash cab do provide interesting trivia. now chris angel mindfreak... how did THAT end up on discovery?

now, idk why you didn't mention oln? ghost hunters, operation repo? wtf do those shows have to do with outdoor life?!? i guess destination truth can be thrown in there too.

That's just it. On the one hand, it's easy to panic when you hear that furries will be on the same show that has featured a woman who snacks on toilet paper. On the other hand, such juxtaposition may very well be a good thing.

I'm in the "hold your fire" camp at this point. Whatever image of the fandom this show presents, it doesn't need to be topped by the idea that furries shun and drive away anyone who dares talk to the wrong person in the media.

On a vaguely related note: apparently, Bumblebee Man on The Simpsons is a furry. (I missed this; I was watching the Golden Globes.)

Lol, I thought that sign was photoshopped or the scene drawn by a fan. Never saw that episode either, but that's funny.

Hey everyone. It's been awhile.

Having taken a hiatus and now coming back, let me first point out to everyone that furry isn't a fad, or a phase, it's a subculture. As such, it doesn't need defending. Every subculture, from BDSM to Trekkies, is going to have it's members look like freaks by mainstream media. This is because it's mainstream.

Furry isn't normal. Nor should it be; it's a very particular interest that many people interpret in many ways. Some of us are here for the spiritual aspect, some for the art, some for the porn, some for the sex, etc. You can't make furry look weird, of give it a bad name; it already has one. As such, it is what it is. If the image of the furry fandom was really PG and approved for children of all ages, it wouldn't be what it is.

It boggles my mind to think that we care what mainstream media think of our little subculture. Normal is a figment of our collective imagination; nothing is normal. If you wanted to convince mainstream media that furry is normal you may as well strap a piano to your ass and attempt to rock-climb the Andes. What I think it boils down to is that some of us do not want to be judged by the set of standards used by mainstream society. But you know what? That's not going to happen. We're all here, and we're all freaks as far as the world is concerned.

If you're here for the image, you're in the wrong fandom.

Wow Drew, nice entrance, good to have you back. XD

Oh, and yeah, There's a reason why I don't have cable... For stupid shows like this(Pretty much the majority of TV in general). Though the man who eats cushions seems very enthralling, I am going to attempt to tune in to the relevant parts.

This kind of stuff stopped pissing me off a long time ago, when I realized that my happiness and enjoyment in what I do is more important then the opinions of the general public.

SO GRAB YOUR FURSUITS, CHAINS, WHIPS, AND BALLGAGS AND LETS PARTY LIKE THE FREAKS WE ARE... Leave your sockpuppets at home you sick bastards...

lol, JK! <3
