I've wanted a head for months now, and I have finally gotten my butt to the fabric store and bought a huge roll of foam. It's on a balaclava base, non moving jaw. This is what I have so far, but I'd like some tips. I'm not sure of colors, because this isn't going to be my grey fursona, just a head (and later feetpaws, handpaws and tail) for fun and practice. If anyone had any ideas for colors, markings etc. I'd love to hear them! Also, I'm blind in my left eye, so the head has to compensate for it, and my head is kinda awkwardly tipped all the time. 3/4 view side view front view front view not worn Sorry about all the pictures... Thanks in advance for the help!

I look at stuff like this all the time, and help a younger friend construct them ^^ I'd love to give a little advice. If you have an upholstry place by your home, try to buy foam there. It's often cheaper! 1: You've done some wonderful shapeing with the foam already, but you may want to make the lower jaw thicker by adding another thin layer 2: It looks like the muzzle may be a tad long, you may want to cut it back about a centimeter or two,but do this at your discretion ^^ The very front of the muzle (Lips?) seem pointy. Not excessively but it may help to trim 3: The left ear is more rounded at the bottom, maybe even it out the right a little 4 To help out making the muzzle ore natural, maybe cut a curved piece that attaches to the bridge ex: http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.itzarion.com/wolveskissing.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.itzarion.com/wolf.html&usg=__DPFknEb00uWU-dXlu6ydv2nhPt0=&h=301&w=404&sz=32&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=DHV6wBxJWzAwzM:&tbnh=138&tbnw=198&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwolf%2Bmuzzle%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D575%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1065&vpy=84&dur=1039&hovh=194&hovw=260&tx=213&ty=51&ei=DjklTerqNYeWnAeek4WkAQ&oei=9DglTbzCCImHnQezi93VDQ&esq=5&page=1&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0 ((left wolf muzzle good referance to what i mean)) Otherwise,it is looking pretty darn awesome!

Thanks for the advice giri! I have a membership to the fabric store, and there was a sale, so the foam was super cheap. ^^ Is the foam too rough? I'm not sure how forgiving fur is.

fur is pretty forgiving, but shaving it down to have softer edges is never a bad thing ^^

Just an update. I put more definition on the top of the muzzle, and thickened the lower jaw, and evened out the ears.

just to make it official. yes, you may use milo's pattern for the head. (as we discussed in msn) idk if it showed in the pic, but his lower jaw is black and he has some white right under the front of his lower lip (like a beard).

Found some nice and soft dark grey and white, and some fun feathery grey with black tips. This will be interesting.

Got most of the face furred, still have to do the sides, top and back. Not sure how to make a neck though... >< And I have decided that this new character looks like an old gentleman, and therefore needs a bubble pipe! And possibly the complete stories of Sherlock Holmes to carry around. Anyone have any ideas what I should name him?

Done furring! I burned myself really good on the hot glue gun. >.< And I sculpted his nose out of fimo air clay. It's really light! Don't have any paint for it yet, nor eye materials, so it'll be a bit before I do any more work on his head. I'm gonna start on hands and feet next!

Finished the neck! Burned myself AGAIN. Now I gotta do paws! After I hit the fabricland for more fur... kinda ran out of gray nearly. Buuut, huge 50% off sale on everything this weekend! I'm stumped as to what color eyes Manny should have though.

Dinsu: Thanks! I think green eyes will suit him the best. Kittara: Heh, it does look like a marshmallow. If anyone knows of a good handpaw pattern I would be eternally grateful!
