Copy-Pasta (RE: The 'Lance Likes' Thread)

I have been forced to remove the 'Lance Likes' thread.

  This goes for *EVERYONE* on this board.  Please do not directly post other people's copyrighted material without citation or permission.  Not only is it rude and disrespectful to people's work, it's a very serious faux-pas in almost every artistic fandom you care to name.
 Posting links to the material is fine, but direct copy-pasta of material that is not your own is not.

  Thank you for your cooperation on this.

Also, if members of this board see other folks directly posting copyrighted material, please tell the member doing it (in private message) that it's not cool, or please notify a member of the staff.

I also agree with Handa,and I thought it was mentioned that it was someone else's work.

Merely mentioning it was someone else's work is all well and good, and regardless of the intentions of the poster, it was still direct copying and pasting of copyrighted work without the express permission of the creator of the work.  Even if the person posted it because he loved the work, and wanted everyone to see it, it was still without permission of the copyright holder. 

  Therefore, it's still not cool, end of story.
