Ok, I thought I might finally share some poetry. Thing is, most of mine is on flash drives that are lost >.< or did not survive my little fit of destroying what I saw as "Imperfect" (long story). Only My new stuff is one this PC, and I not really sure about it, but what the heck. This first one is my newest of the new.
They tell me all, but what do they say?
They really do, They tell me all to know Whether you are Kind, or mean Bitter or sweet, gentle or wild, clam or crazy They tell me all when I look at you…
But, when I look at myself They lie, they have to! I do not see what I want to see, They startle me so, Where has the kindness gone? Where has the free spirit gone? Where have you gone thyself? I have lost myself within myself, Is there a way to turn back now that I see? Or is it too late for this old soul? I am scared of myself, what have I become?
I can see where this path leads, but not where I’ve been, How did I get here? How did I get here! I am not one to sit around, but I will not follow this path. This is not who I am! This is a lie upon lies! There is a path; it has been hidden by the forest of lies! I will regain my true self, and make you change! You never lie to me, I see, but you tell me, Tell me, that I have lied to myself, and to others, To fabricate this illusion of life, There! There! I see it! Break free from this Forest and Flee! But learn, Learn of this treachery upon this face. And make sure no one falls for its easy trap! I thank thee, my reflection, my Eyes. For showing thyself to thyself, And the betrayal upon my soul, I thank thee, Eyes, windows to thy true soul.
~ZNB-2010, upon looking at my reflection in a mirror, and staring into my own Eyes. © Copy write 2010 November by Z. Niegel Burton
This one I am not to sure of, but it is one that I thought should deserve a chance.
This Poem of mine
This poem will only be spoken once. Unless it is remembered This Poem will be different, Unless it is copied This poem will be unique, Unless it is said again and again This poem will not talk about Love or happiness, Unless you want it to This poem will not talk about Hate or Depression, Unless that is what you want to hear This Poem will not talk about Gods or Deities Because we have better things to say This poem will not talk about change in society Because no matter what we do, there will always be change This poem of mine, will stand the test of time, This Poem is just here, word by word For this poem will make you think, And that is what this poem will do This poem of mine, tells you about time For this poem makes you think, And that is what we must do.
~ ZNB-2010. Written upon feeling sick and tired of seeing no Originality in writing by most. Just people out to make money and self Glory. © Copy write 2010 October by Z. Niegel Burton

*madly intense applause* Damn I love those pieces! From one writer to another, please accept a very well deserved doffing of my cap. *proceeds to doff cap*
I wouldn't mind reading more of your work, if you're willing. Likely I'll get 'round to posting something within the near future.

Thank you very much and alright I shall post more then. But only two at a time They watch usI know your there, Watching us, Wondering where did we go wrong. Tears fall from your face, For the pain you have witness, The moon’s light dances on your face Reflecting the sorrow you feel, You are one with it, And we are destroying it, I cannot apologize for the others. But I want to understand, I know we have lost our way, But some want back, Will you forgive us? Please? Forgive us. Allow us to see you again, Allow us to be Free Forgive our arrogant ways, And let us live together like we use to do, For new hope, a new life, A New World ~ZNB-2010, Upon a retreat into the woods The WatcherPlease don’t hide, Please come out, I Know your there, I felt you watching me, Why do you watch us? Why don’t you show yourself? Why do you hate us? I know we fucked up the world, But don’t shun us all, Please, you of all should know, We are sorry, well some. We abandon you long ago, We abandon all of you long ago, So why do you still watch us? Why don’t you come out? Why don’t you show the world? Or do you know what I fear, What they will do, I wish we didn’t lose our way, One day, we shall finally met, Face to Face, And you my watcher shall laugh at this moment, But for now, stay there, till the rest understand. ~ZNB-2010, Upon a retreat into the woods These were written at the same day about 5 months agos. While I did a day retreat (a time of reflection and Meditation) in the woods near my house, were hardly anyone goes.

Now perhaps I'm just too into my own kinda lifestyle, but it sounds to me like you've talked to "people" about the shape of the universe. If so, then it's finally good to get confirmation that I'm not the only one who would appear, to the general population, to be going insane. Sanity may very well be simply a sliding scale of perception on reality, but it's still a word that drives many in our world to do some odd things, and believe in strange hopes.
For myself, the shape of the universe is an ongoing collection of experience, like most others on a Fearless road.
But besides all the possible reasoning behind your writing these pieces, and looking at it purely as a piece of writing, excellent work once again. I prefer the second I think, it's perhaps that it speaks to my experiences more closely.

The Universe does some interesting things. Also, talking to people about this? not really, I haven't had a good debate in a long time. Mostly I read my Books, from Religion, to Philosophy, to Mythology and History. When you read as much as I do on the History of Humanity and what it has come up with you can put some things together that scare most. Also, there is still much on this Earth that we have not found

Too true. Much on an and of this world that would look totally alien to most "normal" people (whatever THAT means (^_^)).
It's an odd little rock spinning through the Void of everything, I find. Here we are, doing what we're doing, the way we're all doing in collectively. Some of us piecing together the puzzle from the scraps we can get through years of searching, others running solely on instinct so deep & logical that care for one another just doesn't pay well enough. Then you have the odd group right in the middle, looking at both sides & trying to figure out who's crazier, the crazy looking guys with all the money who are freaking out, or the crazy SOUNDING guys who are mostly broke, don't care, and are all zenning out, and the middle's wondering "Is there anyone like me who just "normal"" failing to see the thousands of "middle" people beside them asking the same thing.
Not quite sure if I totally understand this species, to be honest.

The Human race is an interesting creature. They are something this planet has never seen before, yet has caused such an Impact in such a short time. The short history of progress we have done has created a bubble of Culture shielding us from understang the other bubbles and more importantly what is inbetween Bubbles. Also, normal, in my terms no one is normal. The Norm has been created out of the frabric of Illusion, causing "us' as a race to get wrapped up in what we think everyone else is like, the thing is everyone else is trying to fit in, in their own way to this norm.
The Fun thing is, (I like to do) is sit on the bus and stare at everyone. wondering, what are they thinking, why is this person looking out of the window for example. And why when some look at me and see I'm looking at them quickly looking away. Understanding the Mind is easy, Understanding the Mind of everyone is hard.
and Oh look, to stay on topic, Bonus Poem.
The Call
It stirs in the pit of my stomach, Nay, the pit of my soul! Calling, calling me, This voice inside me, Calling me to Venture, Luring me out there, This call cause my heart to throb, The urge to wander is hard to ignore, It wants me to leave, Leave everything, and everyone, Leave the cities and the society, Venture out there, Into the wild, Were life is lived for the day, Day to day, Where the petty problems of man do not reach, Where true freedom still lies, Where you are made by the elements of nature, This call, is a loud one, It wants me, It wants me to leave and go, But my mind stops me from listening, It tells me to stay, Not for myself, but for others, The others in my life, I must think of them, So as not to hurt them, It is also true nature of my soul to bring happiness Happiness to others before myself, And so, the call is ignored for others. Yet this tears me apart, The Call is strong, but so is the Care giving attitude. And so I stay, torn apart…
I'm lazy now, the rest of the poems I have and would have bothered to post are now in My Deviant Art profile.

And once again you flex quite notably your literary muscles. Well done. Reminds me of the urban jungle I see when looking around the towering monoliths of steel & glass that dot this realm. In comparison to their green & brown cousins of redwood forests and more south-western rainforests, however, they lack a certain.... serenity.

Ah screw it! I will post more, I am not that lazy when it comes to writing... maybe a bit . Here is my Newest peom, written after a venture into my Basement. It is completely raw, all I did was fix a few mis-spelled words. ( I guess I can type when sick ) Dust and ShadowsShadows on dust, dust on Shadows, Why where these things Forgotten? Why do they now sit in darkness? These things of old times, They were not always like this, They knew what the light was, They brought joy to faces, They were new at one point, But now, Now they stand in misery, Cast away for the newer, Forgotten to time They now weep for you, And for what replaced them, They will sit, forever waiting, Waiting for your return, When one day you will stumble on them, And then you will remember Remember what joy you had, Remember the sorrow for their lost, And the guilt shall set in, And you shall cast off the Dust and Shadows, Mend their broken hearts, And Give them a new place in the Open, Were they will sit, forever happy, And forever more, till the end of their time, When they too will become dust, And settle on those newer Items, Items that had replaced them, And Put them into the shadows covered in Dust, Those items, that now sit in the Dust and Shadows, Forever more, cast away, and then discovered In the sands of time, and the time of Dust.

Ah, reading these I'm tempted to ask who the hell you are, as it speaks to how I see the universe. Stop being a different ME!!!! *glares, pointing accusatory fingers at you*
But no, really, another beautiful piece of work, quite close to home... yet it put me in mind of the futility of the physical. While the theme seemed to be of items in dust, that, so far as I've come to see the world, is the proper place or simple physical things. The mind & soul are that which must do the most travel, occationally dragging along your physical shell to random places around this globe... or is that just me? Regardless, I like the work, as always. Should perhaps post a poem of my own, if I can find one. Not nearly as long, but I never tend to concern m'self with such things, so long as my message is as crisp as I wanted to be, or not to be, depending on the case.

My newest little creation... Little is an understatement... this is the longest one I have written. The Last Whisper of Paradise
My Friends! I know of a place! A Grand place! A place that Rivals Heaven itself! A place untouched by Greed, A place untouched by Power, A place untouched by Hatred, A place untouched by the Wars of man, What is this place? That is easy to tell you, But if I told you, Then this place would be a lie! For Humans are not perfect, No matter how much they think so, They will always be corrupt, Corrupt, Lustful, Power seeking beings. So, if I were to show you this Paradise, It would eventually become corrupt, And fall into ruins, like that of many, For this was not the only Paradise, No, there were more of them, Hundreds of thousands! But, they were all found, And slowly they were destroyed The trees chopped down, The animals all killed off, The land turned to dust! Then ravaged by disasters! This one has survived however! So, I will never tell you were it is! For then, you will destroy it, And I cannot allow that! But, this will do something, It will give you Hope, Hope that there is still Paradise, And this hope will make you look for Paradise, Were you will span the globe in search of it, Perhaps then you will see the Ruins of the others, And then you shall restore them, And once again, paradise will be everywhere, But sadly, I cannot count on this, So, I will leave to Paradise myself, Close the pass leading to it, I will then never venture into it, I shall sit on top the highest ridge, Overlooking paradise, And smile as the Sun sets on the last Paradise, And I shall fade into the wind, And become part of Paradise, Were upon doing so, all will become lost, For only I knew where it was, And the best way to hide something is to lose it, So I only leave you with but a Faint whisper of it, Take that whisper and Rebuild the other Paradises, For that is what must be done, Now, Go, Take this Whisper and Rebuild!

Perhaps Paradise is an illusion of the mind, a place to be reached only from within, & all the ruins-of-old only serve to show where seeking a paradise outside of ourselves will lead.
Regardless of the philosophical implications, it's a beautiful piece yet again, Kapitan. *tips hat*
