Well I've been writing this book since April of 2008 and now I have hit a major writer’s block, my book is a Fantasy/Sci-Fi novel (and a Furry one
). I figured I would post some of it here, and read your feedback on it, and maybe do some changes to the back story (without putting in loopholes!) with a new perspective on it, I maybe able to get ride of this writers block. Tell me what you think of it please

The Lost Journal
Journal entry #105 May 27th 2114 It has been 5 years since the virus put the world on high alert. I still don’t have an answer to the disease.
Test subject #37
Subject shows heavy signs of cellular degeneration.
Memory lost is still at 100%
I may have to move away from human cells.
Journal entry #113 June 5th 2114 Other quarantine camps are having the same luck as me. Cells still are attack by virus even with other primate DNA mixed in. there seems too been no stopping this virus from killing humanity!
Journal entry #114 June 6th 2114 Test subject #42
Subject’s cellular degeneration has slowed but has not stopped it.
Memory lost still 100%
I’ve hit a road block I don’t know were to go from this point, maybe the other camps have had better success.
Journal entry #207 February 10th 2115 Splicing the DNA with other animals still is not working. The virus still attacks the human part.
Journal entry #219 February 21st 2115 Progress, even if it’s slow, is still progress. My contact in Russia has made a breakthrough. Apparently his spliced DNA experiment with artic fox DNA has stopped the virus from attacking human cells, but the body of the test subject rejected the treatment.
Journal entry #528 September 16th 2116 2 years before another breakthrough! At this pace we will be extinct before we come up with a cure! Half of the human population has already died from this atrocity.
Test subject #198
New serum had some effect; test subject shows no signs of the virus. Memory loss still at 100% and the cells have mutated horribly. Subject ended up growing two tails, one extra foot, and fur on 38% of the body. Subject died 3 days after injection.
Upon autopsy I found an extra lung, liver, heart and 12 tumours.
Journal entry #568 December 24th 2116 Christmas has come! More Breakthroughs are coming in from around the world, and India Reported Tiger DNA stopped Virus, Egypt with Hyena & the Egyptian Mau DNA, Germany with Wolves, and Brazil with Puma & bat DNA. But all still have not had a complete success with a Human Patient.
Journal entry #597 March 17th 2117 Riots are getting worse outside of the compound. People are screaming for a cure, and the source of this disease came from the water purification plant in Antarctica. I feel like a mad scientist in one of those 20th century horror films.
Test subject #247 showed signs of mutation but no extra limbs, well except a tail, but at least it’s in the right place. This time subject has become more Animal than human. I fear that their will be no way to keep our current look of a humanity.
Journal entry #602 March 21st 2117Subject #247 died last night at 23:06, upon autopsy found 3 tumours in the brain. This could explain the mental state observed in the last few days. This virus has now claimed 3/5 of the population; the human race is down to a few billion.
Journal entry #693 November 2nd 2117Another scientist has had a brake though in Egypt! Hope at last, his subject showed 70% loss in memory and little mutation. Almost a 50/50 spit in appearance, and CAT scan showed no tumours. But subject has only basic skills, like a trained dog.
Journal entry #742 January 11th 2118 I have done it! This is success, after 10 long years! Subject #401 has no signs of the virus, and mix is roughly 60/40. Subject remembers 95% of their life, but they still look like a mad scientist creation. Ears, Tail, jaw, nose and feet are more animal than human, plus the fur. The only thing wrong is that this is one subject; I will need a bigger test group to see if this works, and a little more testing to see if I can eliminate the animal traits.
Journal entry #768 May 22nd 2118 All 100 of the test subjects showed the same signs as the first one. The world has heard of my success, but in a way this is a bad thing. The riots have grown in size outside of the compounds. With ¾ of the population killed by this virus, some people don’t want to wait until all the animal traits are removed.
Journal entry #793 July 7th 2118Riots overwhelmed the compound yesterday; the government is allowing the production the Delta-7 serum to stop the riots. Some groups protest this; the biggest one being the Catholic Church, saying that what the subjects look like is ungodly. The media has called it the Half-breed serum.
Journal entry #804 August 3rd 2118 Already one million people have been giving the delta-7 serum. Protesters went to an all time high yesterday when religious fanatics car bomb a treatment camp in Paris. While in China 700 people were gun down in their homes after getting the treatment.
At this point I feel that the virus should have killed us all, for when humans fear something, the do all that’s in their power to destroy it, instead of excepting it or trying to understand it. The “half-breeds” have been moved to secret camps for their protection, I’ll be moving with them to monitor progress.
Journal entry #972 June 6th 2119 First child born with parents vaccinated with the delta-7 serum. Infant Shows same mutations as adults; Fur, tails, ears, jaw, nose and feet. Parents thought it to be honourable to name the child Nikola after me. But I feel I do not deserve this for I have change the human race forever, and failed to do a real job at stopping the virus with no side effects.
Journal entry #1134 November 19th 2119 I recently found out that I have the Virus; it was from a contaminated water bottle, so I had to inoculate myself. I believed this to be the right act, so I can have as much time to finish a full cure but this act has not been unnoticed; The News has announced that I have given up on trying to prefect the Serum, and used the Delta-7 serum on myself. The Government is demanding more results soon. Over 500milion people have taken the Delta-7 serum, but there is still an estimated 1.5 billion that refuse. And the government cannot control the people anymore.
Journal entry #1274 January 10th 2120 (this would be in Fast scribbled messy handwirting)
The compound is being attack by religious fanatics! These maybe the last words I ever write in this journal. May anyone who reads it know what I was trying to accomplish here.
