I figure i should post something here because im sure a few of you guys here will get a kick out of this,

I have officially started making a FULL Spartan Suit of Armor, and of course i mean Halo! heh heh heh, so far i have the helmet done, i finished today, started three days ago.  It started out as paper, that i put together with the aid of plans printed on it, after it was in that state, i put a layer of Fiberglass resin on the outside, a coat on the inside, then proceeded to actually fiberglass the inside really well, added some Bondo in a few spots, painted it two-tone, then "Battle Damaged" it ^.=.^ i think it turned out pretty well for a quick thing, and the first time i have ever done anything like this!

Not yet, i have been too busy building this XD but i will be playing it fairly soon here ^.=.^ looks pretty sweet, chances are by the time i t comes out of Beta, i should have my suit done, and my cousin plans on building one as well, so we will go purchase it as spartans XD

And actually, if I were to do a spartan suit, i'd probably do the Security/Recon Variant or something neato like that. 

You could totally mod an ion or tippy to be just like the AR from Halo, better yet, since my field only allows semi auto, a DMR would be even better!

You totally could ^.=.^ the only downside is, all this armor would SUCK in Paintball XD because its SO HARD every ball would break ,you would not get any bounces XD but thats ok ha ha, you would be surprised at how strong i made this helmet though O.=.o its ROCK solid heh heh heh *goes to watch video after he posts because he's awesome like that*

It looks excellent so far.  Best of luck with the rest of the costume! 

The best general advice I can give is to take your time with it; don't try to rush some part and make it 'just good enough'; go all the way and take the extra bit of time to make it sturdy and attractive.  You'll thank yourself in the end and you'll have something that's much more fun to romp around in if it's going to hold together as well as look good.

..I may have to make an elite, and we may have to get together and have an epic time.

Ah, that behind the helmet on the jeep, is the Left Fore-Arm in the workings at that time, Right now im almost done the right fore-arm i have been pretty busy but i think by tomorrow, or the day after both fore-arms will be in a stage of final completion.

Ha ha, this is good! if you get really into it, it would be sweet to have another spartan to run around with!! but i will tell ya sometimes it gets EXTREMELY tedious >.=.< but its a labour of love, especially when your having to do everything twice to get the correct scaling done ha ha... and glueing your fingers together with Super Glue is always fun ha ha ^.=.^

I've heard of some people using hot glue and complaining that they burn their fingers loads.
I dunno which glue concept is worse lol!
(Not that I'm saying there's a better alternative.

Ya... super glue is fun XD but it hurts less then burns, and as for weapons... Not Cardboard XD they will be Paper, Fiberglass and high expansion foam ^.=.^ they will be sweet, i have the "Spanker" rocket launcher file, and the "Spartan Lazer" file already and i would have more, but the 405th is under attack right now...

and heres a slightly amusing update... im doing my scaling now so i can re-make everything XD

Scaling the un-finished shoulder/bicep, i stopped because i knew i had enough to scale, and i knew it was off.


And scaling the hand piece that was over three inches too big ha ha, that sheet with the black squares is exactly 1 inch increments if your wondering ^.=.^

So i need to remake all of these, then they will be the right scale and i will be good to start fiberglassing em, the Right Fore-arm is done now, just need to Fiberglass and paint!

and the scaling is quite amusing, and painful XD

Ya someone is doing a DDOS attack on them apparently...

Well, see the thing is, i use 110 weight card paper, essentially really thick paper, then when you have it all "Pepped" it has quite some rigidity to it, so then you coat the outside in Fiber Glass Resin (its what most boats are made of, withought the Glass strands in it) then when that cures, you do a coat on the inside of the "pep" after that drys you actually fiber glass the inside, so you use the Fiber Glass Resin, as well as mats of Woven Glass Strands, that when filled with resin, and cured provide extreme strength and durability.  from there to give it some more strength and rigidity you fill it with High Expansion Foam, same stuff you see people sticking in holes on their houses, and when that hardens, it becomes rock hard, but still light, So in the end, you have a very accurate weapon, with minimal finishing work, and it will also be extremely strong, and fairly light.    Now it ***should*** make sense, Any Questions? : D ^.=.^

XD essentially, someone is flooding the server with so much information that it gives you a "403" error or other things like that because the server is SO busy it actually cant do anything, its almost comparable to a "Worm" Virus, ya know?
