well, in the "what is generally socially acceptable" book.

You can also find it within the 'Book of actions furries make that bring negative images onto other furries ass a result'.

*grrrrr*

Frankly, I think this is getting a little old. I don't want to cause more trouble than we've already seen in the last few days, but if you're not ready to accept that whatever social group you decide to associate with may not have the social standing you'd expect, then it's time to move on. I'll admit that I don't necessarily agree with everything some furs hold dear, but I could give a hoot what society as a whole thinks of us because of those people. They have the right, just as I do, to their beliefs. And I'm tired of hearing how some furs should specifically be blamed for this. I may not be an admin here, and I may not have been around here too long, but I will not stand to see any fur bullied or blamed for what they believe makes them a fur. And that's all I have to say about that.

 *clears throat*

Runemist, I think what makes you a fur is what makes you interested in anthropomorphics and animals. Whatever reason you have, be it for the art, a closeness with animal spirits, a belief that you are at your soul an animal, or whatever else, that is what makes you what you are. I wouldn't let anyone convince you otherwise.

*EDIT* With respect to Runemist's request to keep things civil, I'd like to point out that I have no personal quarrel with anyone here, but that I feel that a lot of bashing of certain types of furs has been going on, and I don't like it. This forum is supposed to be a friendly place. It bothers me that such things would be set aside.

you need to relax.  nobody is picking on anyone here, It's just a simple fact that it's a socially unacceptable thing to do.  Has nothing to do with beliefs or rights, it's something that isn't accepted to be the norm.

Do you see the irony in that statement after coming down on me for expressing my beliefs on the fandom?

Ooookay, I seem to remember something about not wanting conflict and arguing in this thread, just some information and honest opinions. Does anyone remember me saying that in the beginning? Not to pick on each other because of your opinion?
Now, what we consider normal or not, that's our own business and no one else's, and I don't care who wants to argue what, please do it not in this thread.
Drew has a point, as does everyone else, but I would really rather not hear it! Yes, okay, some people do some socially "unacceptable" things, some people do things that others would consider "strange." Yet other people would not consider any of it strange. And you know what? It's all just who and what we are as humans.
And for the record, I'm tired of hearing about how some furries do things to bring other furries a bad name. We, as far as I know, are not doing that, so I don't want to hear about it.
And if this continues, I will seek out administrative intervention. This is my thread, I want it civil. If you guys have nothing more to say on the original topic, please take whatever you have to say to another one.
Thanks.

And Drew, I agree with you there, that it seems to be an interest in anthropromorphic animals, and not much more than that. I enjoy the diversity!

I'll keep this short and sweet.

I think several people have already said this, and I'll agree with them. So long as there is some connection to the human / animal connection, be it spiritual, physical, or emotional, you are a furry. Anything else is your own definition.

Thank you.
