Just wanted to add to the forums here by mentioning some info about Feral! 08 that ya might find interesting
SPECIAL GUESTS: This year we'll be having a group of special guests as opposed to a singular 'Guest of Honour' (unless, of course, we have a pleasant surprise in the next month or so!). Returning this year will be the prolific artists Ferris and Max Blackrabbit who have both been drawing in the fandom for years and have some of their amazing art available to see on Fur Affinity! Also joining them will be staffer-turned-guest Patches, aka. Sarah Silver on Fur Affinity
We have others lined up and will announce them as they confirm their ability to attend
CAMPFIRES: Since the theme this year is 'Under the Stars' we're going to be having a few extra campfire events. Of course, we always have the Sing A Long, the Drum Circle, and Campfire Stories around the campfire, but we'll be using some of the other campfires as well this year! The fire in front of the Main Lodge will be used this year for Discussion Groups on several topics thought up by campers (one of our traditional camper run events!), and we'll also be holding some jam sessions at the campfire behind Cabin 36 (traditionally known as the staff cabin since...like...half the staff stay there
BEADS!!!: At the first Feral! there was an attempt to include a 'prize' system for activities and workshops that involved receiving a bead to add to your necklace when you participated. In 2003, it returned and was a great success but was replaced with the Clan Challenge games in 2005. Well...beads are back!! At the end of the camp, you will have a souvenier necklace you create over the course of Feral! by participating in workshops, activities and games!
RAFFLE: The raffle returns this year with artist commissions, special gifts and surprises. The tickets are surprisingly cheap, and you can place your ticket in the box for any prize you like (like a silent auction, only with raffle tickets!) Be sure to bring some bucks to test yer luck!
DANCES: Dakk Whitewings will be running the dances this year in TeePee Heights. One of the furry fandom's most unique experiences, a dance in a cabin in the woods! We'll have a 'Mix Tape' night with a variety of music playing over the night for socializing and general fun, and on the last night of Feral the furry DJ's come out to shine, each entertaining you with an hour long set that will span from retro to rock to dance to trance!
