Things are too quiet on the island, so I'm inviting those who can and want to come out for a day of backroad exploring.

I know Niah and Ruby both have trucks, so if you guys wanna come out, that would be fun, as we could get more people out. I'm hoping Drew can attend so he can drive the Jeep which will allow me to take the quad, as I need to take it for a good burn because it hasn't been out in a while.

Before saying yes, be warned. It will probably be raining, you will probably get wet. The only for sure thing is you will get dirty, so dress accordingly. :3

I've got a specific route in mind. Its a logging road that takes us right past a place called "Species Trail" and if we follow the road long enough, there is a cave we can go check out. If you've got cameras, bring em, because the scenery itself is enough to give David Suzuki a hardon.

When the sun goes down, we can find a good spot and have a fire before heading back to town. (Smores and hot dogs!!!!!!!!!!! OMFG!)

I'd like to head out on Monday, the 1st of March, at daybreak, but we can figure out a better day if that doesn't work for everyone.
Also, if anyone with a truck does come, I may require the use of your box to put my bike in until we get to the logging road.

So whose with me?!?! Cheesy

I'd love to Tj, but Monday's suck for me, and with the hour cutbacks, I really shouldn't book any time off if I can avoid it.

I will drive the Jeep, but we needs to get you down here to do some work on her. She needs a tuneup, and it's probably a good idea to do that before we drive out into the middle of nowhere.  Also, Brian is hosting his birthday thing that weekend until the Sunday, and so things could get difficult with me getting time off.

What about Wednesday the 3rd?

My days off are Tuesdays and Weekends. Plus, I gotta make sure I have the funds for gas before I commit.

Gah. I hate being a responsible adult. >.<

I think it would be fun if there were extra quads, but I don't expect it in the least. I quadded a little bit around the Kitimat River up north, so I know how much of a blast it is. I'd be more-than-happy to go along.

Awesome idea. I would go if someone can get me. (Only a mouth or so until i have N and a jeep =3).
Unfortunately Mondays and Wednesdays are 100% not going to work for me. I do flight training/ground school those days so there's no way i can miss that.

Hope things work out

edit: Miss you guys lol

Well, the weather was somewhat cooperative with us, but I think we all had a good time. :3

If anyone took pictures, please feel free to upload them here! I still have to use up my roll of film before I can get it developed, but I will post mine ASAP!

On a side note, I just got the oil changed today on the Jeep, and my friend who works in the garage noticed something strange.
So as it stands, we busted the sway bar on the front end. (Completely pulled it out of the socket on the driver side XD) and the battery for the quad fell out after getting it 4-5 feet off the ground while jumping it, and took the positive battery cable with it.

All in all, the damage was minor, and we all had a good time. Nobody died (Though we came close a few times XD) and big props to Brasou and Drewdle on their great jobs 4x4ing the Jeep and quad!!

Looking forward to going up again sometime, and hopefully we'll have more furs join us in the future. :3

Pics to come Hopefully!

By the condition of your jeep, my truck would not have made it through there.

OMG we killed the sway bar?! I'm not sure if that was me in the gravel pit or you in the snow! We were rocking pretty hard on that snow run. If you want some monies I'll see what I can get for you.

It was so fun! Smiley Niah, your truck would have been fine. It really wasn't much of a challenge until we hit the snow, and I'm sure the snow would disappear in time for the summer.

I've never tried to drive off-road with a pickup, so I'm not sure how the snow would have worked. As it stood, most of this snow had been frozen and re-frozen a million times, so there were big tracks, and the snow in the middle was a little high even for the Jeep. I smashed the front diff a few times on the snow, and it wasn't a great noise (mostly a hideous crunching, though that was mostly just the snow compressing). I think height would have been hugely helpful. Maybe I need to get TJ a 3" lift. Smiley

If you don't have 4WD, I don't know how you would have made it up some of the hills. There was a pretty good angle going on at one point and most of the snow was soft, and I got stuck twice on the way up (although a little rocking and re-aiming solved that).

If you couldn't tell, I had SO much fun. I totally need a Jeep now. Damn my education!

Ah, just pop an Enzyte into the gas tank. Should give it about 3-4 inches, and its completely natural. XD

Anywho, I got some pics, not a lot though. I'm hoping others *cough cough *Drew* cough *Amanda* cough cough* post their pics, as they got more because they are not limited by film. XD

(I know I will probably meet certain death for posting this, but its just so cute! X3)

Apologies for the pics. I'm getting some major light bleeding. XP

As for the sway bar, I wouldn't sweat it Drew. It'll only take about 30 minutes and 15 dollars to fix, if I don't manage to find away to turn this simple task into a hellish nightmare in the realm of home automotive repair. Tongue

Winding it up.

System Ready, almost.

Not really any need to explain.

Unimpressed.

I was certainly with you in spirit, my friend.  Smiley

Will take a better look at the pictures once I've caught up on this post-con backlog of work and emails.  XD
