I'm new to the whole furry thing and wanted to get to know it more/talk to some people. My name is nick (hence sNicker Tongue); im a quiet, nice guy. But with friends Im pretty sociable, silly, and always having a good time. I haven't found my furry identity yet, but Im sorta like a lion I guess: proud, protective, caring. Would love to make some friends, drop a msg or something Cheesy. I have to go the work for 9 hours meow, so Ill see you guys later.

Hey there, sNick;

Welcome to the boards.  Interesting that you'd gravitate towards a lion; we actually don't have all that may on the boards.  (Considering how popular they are in the general population! )

So how did you end up finding the furry fandom?  You'll certainly be able to chat with people and find more about it here; we're generally a pretty friendly bunch.  Smiley

Anyways, welcome aboard.

All the best;

Thanks peps Cheesy. I guess Ill try to "Enter the Snick" sort of thing.

I heard about furries before, but didn't really look into it. Then I saw some furry anime comic, and thought "Ah what the heck". Next thing I know Ive read several different furry comics, and feel that it sorta opened my eyes to lots of different things. It just changed me and how I thought about alot in life.

Im still not really sure what kind of a furry i am, I love lots of animals/anamorphs. Lion sorta fits me, but same with lots of different ones. I feel like a lone wolf a lot of the time, but with friends I totally change and become way more outgoing (which my friends dont know about this, I dont know how'd they react Sad ).

I felt at times before a more animal side to me, when Im mad, really excited, etc. Ive never seen/heard anyone in my community who also are furry, so I thought "I bet there is a site where I can talk to others, find out more about it" and I found this site Cheesy.

Weclome aboard Snicker! (Pardon the terrible pun!)

It took me a long while to discover my animal. I love cats, and initially thought I was one, but after careful research and inflection on their behaviour and group dynamics, I discovered myself to be very un-cat like. I eventually settled on the grey wolf. Don't let others influence your decision, either. If you feel you're most similar to a fox, for example, then go with it. Don't concern yourself with how many other fox furries are out there. I had a similar issue with deciding on my animal, so I took time doing it, but I'm not going to be something else just to be different.

I encourage you to explore and discover everything the subculture has to offer. And enjoy your stay! Smiley

Thanks Drewdle (Pardoned the terrible pun Tongue)

I think it'll take a while to find my true animal. Just a minute ago I thought of a bear *RAWR*, which might be the one.
1. Hybernation (hell ya Smiley )
2. Other reasons that I have now forgot, one which involved drinking vodka lol.

So I dunno, its a tie between wolf, lion, cat and bear i think. Mythological creatures are cool, but not me.

Welcome welcome. I hope you enjoy it here. ^.~

I agree that it will probably take you a while to find your true fursona. Personally, from the time I entered the furry community, I always knew that I was/would be a cat, but I know a few people who went through several changes before finding one particular animal and fursona that they are comfortable with.

And as you grow and change as a person, your fursona does as well.

I'll see you around the forums. ^^

lol thx Shnell, I like my icon too! ^^

Got back from Disney, and Im totally wiped. Cant wait to get back to my nice bed, regular non-greasy food, and no bazillion lineups. I did a lot of thinking there, and I finally decided my Fursona (^^ epic word still makes me smile! Cheesy)!

Lion. It was my first thought when I first joined, and the Disney thing totally just backed it up. I dunno what It was, but It was just there. Lion. Lion Lion Lion. *RAWR* Tongue

I think it was the Lion King part in Philhamagic or however you spell it. It was my FAVORITE part of Disneyworld, seriously! I went on some cool rides, seen some awesome shows, but that part just totally made me smile and feel awesome. I don't know how to explain it, it was just awesome. Awesome Possum. Totally me.

Instead of creating a whole new topic, Ill just ask it here.
Questions:
1. Whats the star under my profile? What does more mean? Can I trade it for a cookie? (lol jk)
2. When posting a reply and you type a lot, how do I stop it auto scrolling up a bit (making it so I can't see what I typed)?
3. I thought I had more, but I guess not. But it would be lame to only have 2 points!  Ugh

Also, is there any Alberta furry meetups? Most of the stuff Ive seen is either in Victoria or Toronto  Dead Thats a bit far for me lol.

1. The star is for how many posts you've made... the more posts you make, the more stars you get. : D I can't remember how many you have to make before you get another star, but ya haha, it's all relative to posts.

2. I have no idea really... I've never experienced that before LOL. I guess someone else will be able to answer that better.

And there are tons of Alberta meetups! I know quite a bit of people who live there and they have fairly regular meets from what I've gathered. (: They actually have their own forum where I think they plan most of their stuff here: http://www.albertafurries.ca/ If you haven't found it already.

Cool thx Shnell, and AF is pretty cool, with instant chat and all Tongue. Forums are a bit harder to navigate I find, but It'll take a while to get used to it.

And repost question lol.
