VI Furs: Lets plan something. :3

Its not my place to speak on behalf of VI Furs, this is just merely one fox suggesting that we do something in early Febuary.

People are busy with work and life and stuff, but if anyone would be interested in hanging out sometime, we should plan something.

Some idea's:
I was hoping to go for a canoe paddle in one of the many lakes up in the mountains some time. I might be able to get another canoe that will fit three, as well as my own which will fit three. If any one has access to a boat of some kind, we could get together for a nice day of paddling.

We could go to Cathedral Grove. Its big, its a forest, and its beautiful. Good chance for picture taking! :3

We could go see a movie.

If anyone has four wheel drive vehicles, we could go explore some of the back country. Drew, you could drive the jeep, and I can take a passenger on the quad. And I know Niah has a pickup. :3

I was thinking about renting a cabin in Tofino for a few days. However that could get pricey and stuff. We would have to discuss this option if it was something we might do. Most places are running on off season rates, but now  is a good time for possibly surfing and storm watching. And with it being in the off season, we could get a beach-front cabin for pretty cheap. Something to look into.

The island has a lot of musical furs, we could get together and have a jam session of some sort. :3

for furs that are of age, we could go check out Level Two. Its the new "alternative lifestyle" bar in Nanaimo. The old place was pretty fun. Good music too!

I just got back from Steelheading up there, and It may be out of the way quite a bit with travel and gas wise, but MT Cain? go play in the snow, since we didnt get any down here, TJ might be sick of it from Fort Mac, but the rest of us.. anyways theres a house close to use, and if not the mountain, then rivers and lakes nearby.

Might need tire chains to go up the mountain, i havent been completly up this year, but theres also a bus that goes.

Well, we went 4x4ing in the mountains. But it wasn't an official meet. I think a dinner meet would be cool. Maybe even seeing a movie after. :3

If people want VI Fur meets, we need some idea's, not that wandering around and Dame Edna are bad ideas.

Come on folks, if your on the island and want to see more meetups, share your ideas! :3

The problem with involving other people is nothing ever get set in stone or made plans for, and the things everyone does is spur of the moment and either people don't know, or people cant make it there for that time and place.

Maybe get a nickle anti poker game going or blackjack, Music cards smokes alcohol

I think step 1 needs to be switched to someone's house, since hotels apparently don't like us anymore.

I agree that a hotel isn't entirely necessary, and I also completely with Niah on this issue, there tends to be a lot of talk of it and saying things will happen, in that matter we are more than covered in the ideas and good intentions department, we just need real execution of said things, the furs in Vancouver have monthly dinner and game meets a peoples places, and it seems to work great for them.

Well the reason there is so much talk, but no one is making any real plans is because when we were hosting the meets in hotels(or elsewhere) there was maybe 5-6 people who constantly paid for the room, out of the 15+ people that usually showed up.

We need to find something more independent to do as a group. (Movies, bowling, billiards, running around naked and so on) That way people who don't have money cant just be a burden on everyone else( And if you think this isn't fair feel free to offer up your own money to cover them....*shrug* )

Whats everyone doing on April 10th? (second sat of the month, that is how it was before wasn't it?) Why don't we all go play billiards then after we could _________.(See above for ideas)   

Believe it or not being social isn't that hard! *Gasp*  14 posts and no one even attempted to organize a meet? Other then just bouncing ideas back and forth that is.(And considering the original post was made in Jan...I kinda felt the need to step in. )

I don't know.... I mean if you guys want to do something....then DO SOMETHING! If you wait for life to happen, it your going to be waiting a long time. ( I feel like that line is from a book or something..... Who am I kidding, prob a movie )


So yes, Any major problems? Any other ideas on what we should do? I'm just trying to get the ball rolling. Any events going on in Nanaimo? Other near by city's got any events next month?

I'll be on the island tomorrow, probably going to crash at Drew's for the night, so back in town on Saturday, and I'm leaving for Fort Mac on April 8th. :/
