Not really sure if this is an agreeable place to put this seeing as its not entirely "sewing" and not entirely furry..... BUT! as of tonight work has started on me and my cousins Halloween Costumes... Two Full sets of Space Marine Armor from Warhammer 40,000.   We have started on one shoulder piece as of tonight... The plan is to have both of the suits mocked up in cardboard within the next day and a half, then we will use those "mock-ups" to lay flees  over-top, then work in FiberGlass Resin (essentially a really simple from of FiberGlass) to make a hard shell around the cardboard, were hoping to have everything made except helmets (those will come later) so i figured i would post progress on it because some of you might get a kick out of it ^.=.^ not to mention this is my first time trying something like this out, and im Stoked XD

I will post pics in a little bit here, i will need to upload them somewhere first, and its 1:00 on a work night >.=.< so ya....

Wyrd.

Ooooh, definitely post pics! My brother is a big Warhammer nut and he uses Tyranids. Can't wait to see how your armor turns out! :]

Totally... BUT! we had a MASSIVE set-back... turns out the plans were working off of... are not all the same scale... so were pooched for halloween... but we will finish them up (the legs are about 250% to HUGE LOL!)

Neat stuff; would love to see pictures!

I was thinking the same thing, though; even if you weren't layering resin over top and were just sticking to cardboard costumes, starting four days before halloween is an insane rush.  It's really surprising how long these things take.  (Plus the sometimes unpredictable drying times of resin.)

Best of luck with them; perhaps they'll be good for next year's halloween.

Still, post pictures if you get the chance; it's always neat to see that kind of progress.
