Ah yes, automotive class.

The first, last, and only auto class I took was in grade 11. I was one of two females in the class and the only one of those who showed up regularly. I did fantastic on all the cut and paste style writing assignments, then the chauvenistic pig of a teacher stuck me in the tool room to organize the tools and fold overalls for the rest of the semester, and only let me do one or two of the hands on projects.

And I still got a bloody A. Figure that out. >.<

I do agree with you, Drake, that society has lost touch a bit, and that there needs to be more hands on practical work before someone can be said to have graduated a program.

Point in fact;

A person I know was doing some courses online, to upgrade and get into the real life courses he wanted to take.

One of those courses was about how to deal with people, centering on interpersonal skills.

Online. With no human interaction whatsoever.

Just kind of makes you shake your head.

That reminds me; next year I may be forced into an online grade twelve university english course.I find this baffling in high-school and my main problem is that I know I won't learn a thing. I'm going to stare at the screen and read for like twelve hours but I'll probably put the work off to the very last minute since it's "online" and then get screwed over later Sad I know I'm a procrastinator,so I may be able to prevent this, but at the same time I am annoyed with the school board for thinking this was a good plan,as there isn't any teacher supervision.Even if it's  a university course, that doesn't mean there aren't going to be problems.-sigh- Sorry, mini rant.

As for Auto class,I only have taken tech classes and the only female who took it seriously, yay! However fter my co-op placement I finally narrowed down my scope to electrical,or another profession if I dislike that. Oh goodie!

Any course? Pottery/sculpting/metal work Enivroemtnal science and whatever that caught my fancy XD I like to learn things ~

That sounds like fun always working with your hands.

But For me, to learn anything I want, I would go for all languages I can, every bit Ancient history, Mythology, Culture, and psychology. I just love learning on how & why the mind works, how everyone comes up with a different understanding of ourselves & others. And for history, it’s just amazing what our society has come up with in the past 10 000years. Mythology gives us a glimpse at what our past selves thought about themselves, and the Universe.

List of Languages I would like to learn soon

-refresh my German
-French
-Portuguese
-Latin
-Russian
-Italian
-Sanskrit
-Greek
-Norse
-And Ancient Egyptian Tongue
And maybe some other ancient languages along the way Cheesy

Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of snobbery coming with some of the art based areas. Especailly drama and the plays. Oh well,it happens.

Oh languages! That is a fabulous idea. I personally want to learn german and latin asap.

I work with my hands mainly because I find that I enjoy creating not only beautiful things but things that are useful. But I also love planning and organizing strange eh?

Thats sweet! more people need to be like you! especially in Auto! i HATE the whole "Its not a girls thing" thats just ignorant!

And electronics, thats sweet! i enjoy tinkering and building circuits every once and a while, made a WICKED spud gun igniter circuit that puts out (an estimated) 12,000 Volts, and has a continuos ark across a 1/4" gap on 12 Volts ^.=.^ it scares the hell out of me ha ha

O.=.O don't taze me bro!! XD

Man I wish I had the equipment for making circuits, but where really will I get the special "acid developing" board and not to mention the acid and washing chemicals themselves XD I loved electronics in high-school was the best course ever. The craziest thing i ever built was a remote controlled vacume cleaner.

I know that doesn't sound fancy but I kinda lacked a LOT of parts, so litteraly I had this 12" long by 7" wide box on wheels that I made from plexi glass that was driven by one of those micro zip-zap RC car chips, it didn't have enough power to run the motors or steering by itself (1.5v is notthiiingggg) so I had one little batter pack running the RC receiver chip, and had the motor outputs of that chip set to these hulking mechanical relays I made using two motors per relay that in turn would flick a set of brushes back and fourth and two sets of contacts, XD now the brushes on them had like a 6v current through them, and the contacts were what was hooked up to the actual vehicle drive and steering units XD

The following year I made a full function drive and steering tethered car,  using nothing more than a few motors, some wire and my signature hulking mechanical relays XD

lol I wish I was more of a tinker-er I do like finding out how things work but not always great as making them work.lol XD I agree with the "it's not a girls thing' really annoying especially when your sexuality gets questioned  Cry CAN'T I JUST WANT TO LEARN? Har har Seriously though, extremely annoying.....however that has diminished in my school and more girls are becoming open to take the classes.

Got my Bachelor of Fine Arts a few years back.

What did the art student say to the engineering student?
Would you like fries with that?

Utterly epic.

As I happen to work in the fast food industry right now, I cherish a highly unlikely dream, which has everything to do with both fast food and education.

If I could somehow make it happen, I would like to pass a law where every person would be forced to work in a fast food joint for a month or two at some point in their life.

So, you're forty, went to a snobby school for six years to get that high paying job, have two jerk kids and a scruffy little mut named Reggie? Oh, wait, you've never worked in fast food? Well, here's your visor, get your ass behind the till.

I can't even begin to count the number of people who walk into my store and look down on me because of the job I hold, and the way some people treat food service workers never fails to astound me.

The experience would certainly be an eye opener for many people, and the understanding gained might just help close the gap of understanding between those with service industry jobs and those with "more respectable" or "higher ranking" jobs.

And it would be extremely satisfying on my end. ^^

Completed High School. No post secondary yet. Still deciding what I'd like to do with my life, and currently paying off a loan. :3

-TJ

I posted in here almost a year ago, and I guess I can update it. The loan for the Jeep was payed off two months ago, and now I've decided on a course of action for my life, so I'm getting prepared to apply at VIU for the Natural Resource Officer Technology Diploma Program and a Bachelor's Degree Program in Natural Resource Protection. I'm also looking into some tourism courses and Instructor Certification for various activities. Eventually, I would like to work towards a career in enviromental consulting, enforcement, restoration and habitat enhancement, as well as working in the Tourism Industry when I need a break from the serious stuff. :3

Sorry if I am boasting, I'm just excited to finally have an almost certain direction. WOO FOR EDUCATION! :3

Finally got my GED. Was driven out of school due to extreme bullying and to the brink of suicide as a result... Education wise, just getting my GED, worthless as it is.. Is as far as I'm going at this point.
