this is one of the main reasons I joined the forums I am *hoping* any that used to meetup monthly in the Okanagan are still around on these forums and was curious if any of them wanted to start the meetups back up again? I for one would love them to be even more frequent if possible, whether that would mean just meeting up for fast food or a movie, or meeting at a fellow fur's house (if this sounds too personal, I apologize, its just something other online groups I'm in do often enough) for gaming, eating, or w/e ^^ so, is anyone up to starting such meetups again? or am I alone in this O.o ~Shadow~

Hey there, Shadow;
We'd be happy to get together. A few of the Okanagan crew are back in school, so their schedules are a bit busier, but we can certainly organize something.
How does October 2nd/3rd or 4rth, or the 16th/17th or 18th sound to people? We could all pitch in $5-10 and meet up for pizza and movies at my place in Oliver if that works. If you'd rather do something else, we can certainly have that, too. There's a fair group from Kelowna, we can certainly try to get a carpool together.
People are welcome to crash here on the Friday or Saturday night if they'd like. We can also start off with a hike before hitting the movies; there are some great hills around my place.
I'm personally gone for the weekend in between that.
Let me know if you guys are interested.
Cheers; -Sephren

O_o yeah, sorry but unless there was a carpool to oliver I have *no* way of getting that far out of Kelowna that and I'm a bit of a outdoors disliker to be perfectly honest...so I wouldn't do hiking >.< as well this month I'm uber broke, but like I said, if someone can carpool me there, I'd happily come :3 staying the night is a no go for me though, I've never been able to get a good night's sleep in a stranger's house lol I wouldn't mind doing a smaller meetup in Kelowna before then, maybe to go to the theatre and grab some dinner before and after if anyone's interested, that would be sometime in October, as well I am happy to meet publically with anyone that wants to in Kelowna for a coffee or such, having faces in your head is better than not knowing who to look for, and allows for unexpected runin's in the future ^^ thank you for the suggestion though

I'd love for regular meetups to get going :0 I can only attend on weekends because of school and my parents can obviously only drive me to Kelowna etc. on weekends. But yeah, totally, there's so many of us in the area we should really start seeing each other more haha

hey, I was wondering....
does anyone want to do a Halloween Movie night closer to Halloween?
Saw VI is coming out round then as well Zombieland starts this friday, I can't afford it right now but anytime after the 21st I'd have money for a ticket (or free if its at Famous Players)
I know it has a lot of movies but Grand 10 is difficult for me to get to unless a few furs carpool :3 we could meet up for dinner beforehand at somewhere fairly cheap like Dennys, Red Robin or w/e as well
lemme know if anyone's interested ^^

I'd be all for a Halloween movie night. Unfortunately, I am a movie-viewing, zombiephobe wimp and can't stand to watch any horror movie that isn't focussed on werewolves (they make everything better, haha). Might come for the dinner part, though, if you don't mind me skipping out after.
On the subject of Halloween get-togethers, does anyone wanted to go mini-golfing at Scandia on Halloween? It'd be earlier in the day, since I assume that people already have things planned for the evening. If Halloween itself doesn't work, we could go the next day or the weekend before, though I'd still kind of like it to be a costume event, since I imagine that mini-golfing is twice as much fun when you're dressed in a ridiculous (-ly awesome) outfit. We could also go bowling at McCurdy instead, but I'd probably have to book it in advance.

so. well. was wondering. anyone want to have a meetup at Parkinson Rec to have fun at the pool? I have 10 free passes for the pool/gym/etc in my hands if anyone wants to go, maybe we could hit somewhere like Triple O's afterwards for something to eat (Pay for yourself, sorry x.x) if anyone's interested, start posting days and times that best suit ya and we'll arrange things from there ^^ I'd prefer if at least 3 people plus myself attended though otherwise its kinda boring oh. and remember, pool admission means hotub/steam room too ^^ if anyone's up to it, I'll check the soon changing to Fall schedule for the public swim as well, I *could* likely pull off a *SMALL* (like 3 people and myself MAXIMUM) movie night at my place in Downtown Kelowna for those interested in Halloween stuffs I got a bunch of movies ready to watch...gotta decide if I'm keeping them around or w/e though or else I'll just watch em then toss em cheers!

Well I can't say that I'm on for anything right now but there's a chance I'll show up to a meet eventually.

I realize that so far nobody knows me but I'm planning on changing that. That said just keep it in mind that I'm around.

Is anyone available the day after Halloween for maybe bowling or something? :C I don't live in Kelowna (I'm in Penticton) so I'd only be able to make the trip up there if a fair amount of people were available, but if we could I'd bring my fursuit and if Wula and Grace could make it they should bring theirs too haha...
I dunno! I just want to do something XD

Shnell: I could drive you up on my way to Kamloops if you could find a ride back afterwards. And yea, I'd love to do some suiting as well. Bowling's pretty good for that sort of thing. I can actually do the food if we want to meet at someone's place for food (and movies?) afterwards.

bleh. me no can go to bowling. as I haz no monies. my bills are overkill this month hence I'm flat broke, and I still have to pull funds for a Halloween costume out of my butt >.<; however my offers of meeting up at Parkinson rec and a small movie night at my place are wide open as neither costs me anything :3 the movies don't *have* to be horror either. I have a fair selection of flicks from action to comedy, horror to drama, and basically everything else in bewteen. except musicals. I hate musicals . ~Shadow~

If there is a desire to grab food or movie or whatever afterwards, I can probably get my family to lend us the upstairs (kitchen/living room mostly) to do with what we wish. :3
@ShadowKitten: Even if you can't afford to pay for bowling, you could still come to hang out and see everyone, especially since all but one person aren't bowling at any given time anyway. Plus, if we head to someone's house afterwards, it probably won't add any extra costs. Also, I'm sad that you dislike musicals. Movie night still sounds like a good plan for sometime, though.
@Spike: Clearly you must move here. >:3

@Gracewolf not to be rude I honestly would feel so out of place in a bowling alley and fursuit peeps >.<; that and I'm super shy (as you already kinda know XD) and depending on the day/location/time I might not be able to go due purely due to transportation...when/if those details are decided upon is when I could figure out if I'd actually go :3

@Wula well I haz met gracewolf before so it wouldn't be like I wouldn't know ANYONE at all, as for buttsecks, how do you know I'm not the same It's just I feel more like the odd fur out being as I have no furry stuff to speak of...yet @_@ also, if you haz video games, and are thinking of selling, let me know, I'm always on the hunt for games @Gracewolf: as for coming just to chat with peeps, do bowling lanes actually let people do that? from what I've seen in the past people that don't pay to bowl get da boot if they're just sitting there. as well what bowling place do you suggest? if my memory serves me right, McCurdy is really nice atmosphere but a bit pricey, Valley Lanes (near McCurdy) is affordable but nothing fancy, and Capri Lanes is dirt cheap and is frequented by seniors lol...*has images in his head of seniors + furs bowling and busts out laughing* anyways. I most likely would come, still depends primarily on time of day and date really.

Well how does Sunday November 1st (the day after Halloween) sound? I could get a ride down there with mother dearest then. (: I could probably only come to the bowling portion though as my mom will have to just go shopping or something while we bowl so she can drive us back instead of her having to drive an hour to drop me off, drive an hour to go home then come back later and have to drive home again XD So if we went bowling for like 2 hours or something I'd be good, I just wouldn't be able to attend the movie/food afterward. But IDK any of the bowling alleys in Kelowna so that's up to you guys <:
