ok so when i try and start up my laptop it keeps coming up with the folowing messige

"a problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer

check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.if this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer

if problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. if you need to use safemode to removge or disable components, restart your computer"
but seing as windows cannot start up  there is no way to  remove any newly installed programs...and i havnt installed any anyway
does anyone have a way around this?

Sounds like a standard BSOD.. Can you give the error code?

BTW it would help if you posted some basic system specs. But more importantly what version of windows are you running? If you have vista it might just be a matter of booting from the disk and running a start-up repair.
