It seems that we got quite a few replies on the other board, special thanks to everyone for their support.

So Island FurBQ is a go for its first year! Come be a part of what we hope to be the start of many to come Island FurBQs. What better way to kick off a new event, then to be shrouded in the beautiful and rich landscape of the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. The event is being held in Green Point Campground, located right on Long Beach in the Pacific Rim National Park, with our very own private group site. Take part in fun activities, or just kick it on the beach.

This event is Pre-Register only, but by paying the $25 registration fee, you get food and drink for the duration of the event, and Con Badges, courtesy of Lady Serpent and Veekahr!

Pre-Registration ends July 25th, and spots are filling up. Visit http://islandfurbq.vifurs.com/ for the latest info.

Thanks for reading, and we hope you'll run with us this Summer, August 15th-17th at Island FurBQ! :3

EDIT: Can we paypal money. Or does that mean the people that don't want to risk mailing money are kinda boned?

Paypal is our preferred method, just because its the easiest way for us.  :3

Just fyi, you did not mention anything about paypal on the website Tongue All it really says is that your accepting cash only in person or that you want people to "Send" the money to your email Tongue

just FYI

Quote
After the last Staff Meeting, we decided to do away with the “Register at the Door” policy. The only way to register is via Paypal or with TJ Bluevulpine at the VI Fur meets before July 25th, 2009. The price hasn’t changed, and will remain $25.

We have also added a Late Registration Policy, which starts July 26th and ends August 5th. The cost for Late Registration is $30, and there is no garuntee that you will recieve a conbadge at the event, since it will be short notice for our Con Badge artist.

vifurs.com go get registered!

Only now did i realize it was this weekend. Anyone able to give me a ride?

Thanks

edit: I of course can pitch in some $
Also it would be nice if there was some room to take some crutches along. I injured my knee about a week ago and i may need them if it happens again.

edit: Got a ride :3

Sure not being aloud to have a campfire kinda blows :/ But we can make do I think.

Actually, I think we are allowed to have a fire. A certain foxy friend of mine ( Wink) told me that as long as you are within 2km of the ocean, you are still allowed to have a fire, because of the ocean spray.

I could be wrong, but he knows the rules and loopholes better than I do. ^^

Well, I don't see why we couldn't have a fire, considering it's been raining for a couple days now!
Edit: Also, I was wondering what kind of food we're going to have out there? I mean, I dunno about anyone else, but I'm a rather picky eater, so I was thinking if you like, I can bring some easy-to-make food for myself. Also, I'm somewhat worried about the abundance of Smores. If there isn't an abundance of Smores...I might eat a lot of them, and others would be sad. We wouldn't want that, would we? Tongue
So, let me know, I can see what I can do for picking up food for myself. I eat the regular fare of hotdogs, cheeseburgers, and some other meaty products, but I just wanted to check!

Being a Park Ranger certainly has its benefits, Ruby hehe ^^

Just to set everyones mind at ease, I have been told by a forestry officer that "fires are permitted up to 2km inland from the coast" and the site is within 1km of the coast, so we are good to go. And even if we couldn't have a fire in the site, we will be having a big fire on the beach. :3

As for the food arrangements, we encourage you to bring along your own snacks and even food if you are a picky eater, just to be safe, in case what we are serving on the menu isn't to your liking. On the menu, we have:

Hot-Dogs, Hamburgers, Greek Salad, Ceaser Salad, Potatoes (boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew *chuckle*), Sammitches (Anything from deli-meat to PB&J), Steak, Chicken, possibly fresh salmon, Eggs, Toast, cereal and a few other things.

For snacks we will have an assortment of Pop and Chips, plenty of water, Assorted Fruit, Marshmallows, Chocolate (For smores Tongue) and again some other things.

If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask, and if not, we will see you all in Tofino. :3

Wishing Everyone a safe journey :3

I would add my safe wishes to all coming, and I know that we'll all have a blast!
