A Past Life

A lion was walking through the long grass one sunny day,
his umber stripes helping hide him against the Summery hues and shadows,
when a little bird, a finch, flew from some neighboring reeds.
The finch stopped before the lion,
held aloft on the breeze that seemed to flow from his mane.
“Aaniin,” said the lion with a warm smile.
“Aaniin,” said the finch with a twitter in her voice.
Then together they continued, and the proud lion strode,
with the rice bird flitting by his side,
singing to him her song.
Thunderous purrs rolled from the great cat’s throat,
and the finch lady danced along,
as if these purrs were the wind beneath her wings.
Their songs of love were heard by all whom they passed
in their journey together,
echoing forevermore.

I had a rare moment of creativity and decided to act upon it. This was actually inspired by an idea that I now have rolling around in my head for a drawing that I'd like to do sometime...

That kind of description is what I like to call feeling the visuals. Which is really cool.

Thank you for the compliment. I don't do creative writing all that often, aside from RPing online. Smiley

I quite like the mood in this one.  It's surprising in that you don't expect there to really be such feeling in such a short mini-story, but it's oddly inspiring.  The whole scene seems very bright and if it could be a colour, it would be golden yellow.

I feel so out-of-touch with liturature due to the distraction of my trip being two days away, but I do hope to come back at some point and offer some actual feedback on some of the writing being posted.  Glad you were able to jot this down while it inspired you; sometimes those moments pass before we can really get them on paper!

Cheers,

Yeah, it was definitely a rare moment. I do get inspiration every so often, but I don't often get a chance to get it on paper, since the inspiration often comes at rather inconvenient times. Such is life though, eh?

Thanks for the compliments and the quickie review. Smiley

I was just going to say - "this would make a great drawing". Have you started any sketches yet?
The concept is such a lovely one.

I haven't done any sketching of it yet, no. I really need to get back into the habit of drawing again. We shall see how things go in the coming weeks. Smiley
