Hey there, mates;

Here's a tail I whipped up today as one of the prizes for a gal who placed first in the recent contest I held.  It's a border collie; wot wot.

Wula:  Thanks.  A red panda would be interesting; sewing the side stripes takes FOREVER.  (as with AlanTabby's striped tail, oh my goodness.).  But, it turnes out worth it in the end.  I don't think dying would be as effective with a fur needing that many contrasting colours as a red panda, but it certainly came out a nice blue for your lion pieces.
