Recently, I've been working on some plans for a suit I'd like to try building over the summer of my character, Dresden. He happens to be a bactrian camel, which got me thinking. I've never seen pictures of any camels suits that weren't unfortunate mascots. Even llamas are rather scarce. This brings me to my question(s).

What kind (as in species) of suits have you never seen, but would like to? Or want to see more of? Do you prefer rarer suits (ie. only one or two of that species) or more common (ie. wolves, foxes, etc.), assuming that they're all the same quality? Or is there just one species that you really like?

Personally, I'd really like to see someone attempt a pangolin, dodo, seal, or plains viscacha. And more lizards in general (perhaps an iguana-wolf, hehe).
I'm a fan of bats, so I'd like to see more quality bat suits, for sure. And I really like suits with interesting colour schemes or markings, provided that they're not too busy and are well coordinated; that always impresses me. Apart from that, I don't really have a preference for species, though I do tend to gloss over very similar suits, such as red foxes with no distinguishing marks, features, or colour variants. Not because I dislike them, but simply because they don't catch my eye as much as suits with a unique twist to them, even if it's just eye shape or an accessory.

I'm not really a fan of suits, but I do have to say I like bats and more unusual animals would be cool to see if they were made really well. *thinks of the fun that could be had around town with a dinosaur costume, raptor or otherwise...* Wink

Oh yeah! Some more dinos would be pretty grand. One of the reasons I can't wait to see yours finished, Temperance.

I also hadn't seen Pashnekwa's suit, so thanks for sharing that. I really like it. I'll be getting one of my bat character Orin from FurrHappens sometime next year, too. Heh, there has been at least one llama, though a bit dramatic, I must admit (oh dear, pun, if you know of the one I'm talking about).

I think most 3D artists can appreciate a good suit even if they'd rather watch than wear one, since they know how much effort was put into it to garner good results.

Actually, GW, I'd love to see your fursona as a suit.  I've thought yours was a pretty unique choice for a while now. ^^

As for unique ones, I saw a comment recently from someone saying that they have never seen an anthro gila monster.  That would be very cool to see.

*Raises wing* yeah, I'm working on a bat fursuit... But I've found a way better technique, I feel that I could do a better job, plus my bat fursona has changed a bit, so I'm restarting my bat fursuit :O

A great site for looking at fursuits would be The Fursuit database. You can find fursuits by the species, creator, as well as owner. So far, they've got around 11 bat fursuits up. Theres a huge viriaty of species to choose from, so I'm pretty sure you'd find what your looking for (not making any promises though).
The acid fursuits (acid fox, acid horse, acid skunk) are pretty unique, if your looking for something flashy.

And as for me, I'd like to see more bats( Shades), some realistic looking rats, some hyenas, and perhaps hamsters. Some birds would also be pretty interesting.

good topic guys! Personally I appreciate a good dragon suite. I also like that series of suite that were colorful goat rabbit things.

Pashnekwa: hmm? Lemmy's changed? how so?

Pashnekwa: hmm? Lemmy's changed? how so?

Well, he's a little less cartoony, muzzle shape is a little bit more exaggerated, and his 'mane' now goes up his neck, and stops at his head (rather then it just stopping at the beginning of his neck)
Also, Lemmy is a guy...And I made the body suit for him fit too well...So curves wouldn't really do him any justice.

Heres a picture of two drawings of him. One old, one new.

pardon the drawings...drawing isn't my strongest field...I donno..It's kinda intimidating showing off my drawings while theres people here who are way better then me X(
