Last year...  Hm.. Didn't we head down last year?  I actually thought it was quite a good time.  *Purrs*

Though, I wouldn't try to bring mags again if I were in your shoes...  that's a frightening prospect. Wink   They almost caught us last time at the border.  I'm really quite shocked that they didn't.. a boa constrictor isn't exactly easy to miss.

well and plus its being held in a new hotel which looks fairly nice Cheesy the one thing  thats worrying me is the number of people who have pre registered so far... i mean may isn't very far away and there's only like 30 people on the list atm, but yet theres over 300 people on the reg. mailing list... i don't want to go if there's only like a tiny bit of people going... were the numbers slow like this last year?

I was thinking about going to AFF with my brother and some friends, just wondering if anyone else is going....maybe we can work out some transportation together?

Oh man.. you really, really shouldn't.  It was seriously NOT a fun time; we had no idea we'd be searched and it was just a random fluke that the only bag they didn't search was mine.   O_o

I wouldn't do it again.  Just not worth the stress and the totally real risk of losing the animal completely.  Plus, very nasty border guards, for no reason!

But thanks.  It WAS fun to have her there.  Smiley

Hm, I'm broke, otherwise I'd go. I don't know anyone but my family in BC and it's starting to get boring. A con or furmeet would be perfect to spice things up. ^^;

You could take the snake in my car. There's about a half dozen excellent hiding spots in a New Yorker. Cheesy But all jokes aside, just glad to hear you got away with it and didn't get your animal taken away. That would have been a real difficult mess. Yeah, those guys are pretty nasty on a regular basis. They take their job very seriously, though I hear the Canadian border guards are a little nicer. (My parents experience was that they just waved them on back into the country because the plates on the car were from BC, didn't ask for paperwork or anything)

Sounds like fun, and I've got a car that can seat five pretty comfortably. My question is how much it costs to get in, and what kind of ID do you need to get into the States? Is a Passport mandatory now, or does a DL and birth certificate still suffice?

I'd love to go, but I'll have to see how my financial situation's holding up closer to the con, given that almost all of my cash is going towards my trip to Japan in August. But if I can swing it, I will (and just won't buy anything while I'm there). It'll be a good push for me to finally apply for my passport, too.

This sounds like fun, but I doubt I'll have my passports in order by then. *Crosses fingers* Here's to hoping haha :3
If it works out, and my financial situation (damn you money!!) is cool, then I'll be heading down Cheesy

Mm, it's looking more likely now that I might be working a lot less this summer.  So, if it turns out that I get weekends off, I might actually head down there.  I should know within the next week or two, we hope.

Wula, are you going for sure?  If so, who're you going with?

Drewdle:  The price to get into AFF itself should be on the website.

Well hey there, Kyle;

You're not the same guy who just caught me on Pounced, are you?  Smiley

(Edit:  Yes, I recognise your email address.)  Wink

A few of the crew showing up on friday are thinking of heading down, (including myself), so we can chat about it there.

Cheers!
