Okanagan furs biweekly get togethers?

ALRIGHT so let's try to get this going again. Jax and I have been talking and thinking up fun ideas and such. (:

Now, as far as I'm aware and have observed, there's a pretty big group of furs in the Okanagan area. And we don't really like, do anything! D: We need to do something about that. So Jax and I would like to organize biweekly meetings or something of the sort where we just get together and have fun! And maybe go bowling, go to scandia, see movies, etc.

So. This is a brainstorming topic. Post if you'd be interested, what options and places would be best for you, and what kind of things you'd like to do! Like fursuiting, bowling, tobogganing, etc. P: We could vary from different cities too, like Kelowna, Penticton, Oliver, whatever is good. We'd just have to organize some sort of ride thing.
Jax and I were also thinking of the possibility of a Christmas dinner or something at a buffet w/ a secret santa, what do you think?

There actually is a thing that goes on fairly often in Penticton that might be able to be expanded upon.

A December/christmas meet could be a good idea, though.  I'll be home from the 15th to the end of December, and I wouldn't mind catching up with you all.

What about hitting Boston Pizza for a buffet lunch?  Amazing amounts of fantastic pizza for only $7.99, and it's always a good time socially.  (I'd vote Penticton because it's more central, if it works for others.)  We could expand on that, though, and do other things as well.

Or, if anyone would be able to make the trip down to Oliver, there's an excellent toboggan hill that we could take you up to, and have a furry hotdog/marshmallow roast, etc.  Hot chocolate and things like that, and we can warm up somewhere later.  Again, a buffet dinner afterwards at the chinese place in town is always a good time, or we could all pitch in $5-10 and order pizza; mabye catch some movies that evening at our place.  I'm sure we could organise an overnight event if people would rather head out in the morning. 

Any interest in either of those?

(As for a Biweekly meet, I think the idea is solid, but bi-weekly may be a bit too often since we're scattered between Kelowna, penticton, oliver and osoyoos and it might be tough to travel that often to a get-together.  Personally, I would vote for a monthly meet, but bi-weekly could probably work, too, it just may not have the consistant numbers showing up.

I also agree that varying the location is a good idea, both to allow different furs to have access that might not otherwise, and to keep things fresh.    )

Ooooh yeah Boston Pizza would be a great place to go. (: That sounds like a great idea, we'll have to try to organize that.

And now that you mention it, a monthly meeting does sound better, and with it being once a month we can do cooler things, like bigger things such as bowling and the likes. And the tobogganing idea sounds like so much fun, I'd be game for that! c: That would be a fun day, yess.

I am also good to go for this idea, would be smashing to get to meet some other furs in the area. Bi-weekly or monthly are both great ideas, though the monthly one would be better I would think. That way its a little more open, plus like you mentioned the ability to do bigger activities.  Anyways thats just my 2 bits on the subject.

id be all over meeting once a month like a fat kid on a cupcake.

But i wont lie, the Weekends are really the only ideal times for me less its past 5:30PM on a weekday :x

yeah weekends would really be the only days i'd be able to do it too XD i'm sure it applies for most people, too.
