Hiya
So, my dad offered for next summer(july/august) to let me plan a convention at our 5 arce hobby farm. He **might** change his mind, but offered cause its so hard for me to go to conventions cause of time/money/distance, plus they wanna see more of the furry culture that I'm so involved in.
In Brief:
-5 acre farm: fields & woods sperated by 2 streams -only animals are chickens & 2 large dogs -Large barn with 3 downstairs areas & a hayloft- has electricity -short walk to main house for bathroom -Fields are dry/clean & grassy in summer -can have open tents in fields if rainy (only has small tent though,so anyone can bring another) -Have bbq & coudl have bonfire for weenies/mashmallows -No drugs, not sure bout alcohol as its my PARENTS' land -Can sleep over in hayloft or in one of the hotels(cheap & just 10 min away)
Please message me if they are interested in attending OR helping me plan this as I've never planned anything more then a Halloween party!!!

Well I would be more then happy to help, although I would be kinda skeptical as to how big/how much attendance we could get, as most people would be turned off by the high ferry costs. But i'm sure it would be great for all the local islanders!

That sounds like an awesome idea! I would be most interested. ^^ If your dad does decide against it, I do know some places great places in Port Alberni and Tofino, though they are both kinda far for most furs^^; I think Duncan would be a great place, as its kinda central for everyone :3 I would be willing to help out in anyway that I can to help make this work -TJ

*giggles* love the vote of confidence.
And it does seem like I have permission for this & even my sis seems fine with the idea. Probbly hold it in July while its warm & nothing is living in the barn(ewww). Be nice if someone could volunteer to come over early & help clean/set-up/cook.

So was looking at dates so it doesn't clash with other fur-cons & it looks like late July is the best time!

If any Nanaimo furs need a ride down, let me know, because I've got three empty seats. Also, I'd totally be willing to pitch for materials or help if need be, given some notice.

Pix is making plans and thinking of ways to help out. Being a scout for 8 years usually helps in some way. Perhaps a good med kit.

I'd love to go! It's right before school, so it'd be something fun for me to do before I get down to the grindstone. I'd love to help plan things, as I'm pretty well organized and stuff...but I wouldn't know what to do! I don't really have a lot of money, and long distance is blocked for outgoing calls on my phone (makes it a lot cheaper), but I do have e-mail and MSN. So, if you have anything you aren't sure about, perhaps ask me? It does look like you have a lot of help, though!
