No, I'm not thinking of sex, you yiffballs... I'm thinking of when you first met a fellow fur. Do you remember the first time you ever met a fellow furry fanatic? Or a group of furs all together? Was it good? Was it bad? Was it fun? Was it sad? Scary, perhaps? Nerve-wracking? Spontaneous or carefully planned out? Was it at all memorable? Details, details! If you care to share, of course! Anti-climactic.
Course, the first fur I met ended up being a great friend (and still is), but then I met more of a group, and I was reminded of grade-school field trips, except I couldn't visually distinguish the chaperone-function individuals. Everything felt completely like usual after that, except for I found myself not being disturbed by people I'd never met engaging in conversation. I didn't feel as much hostile-tension as I do on the streets.
I can relate it to those scenes in movies, where you expect to find the killer opening the door, to see it's the friend (usually then immediately killed from behind by said killer), but without the death.

Well for me, its started about 3-4 months ago, I had to show up my true colors. I was always shy to start it up, but then when I first camed on to this site, evrything was easy going. I wasn't scared to talk to other furrys. It just got simpler. Now im happy each time I come on here, there always something interesting to talk about. But yet, for the futur that holds me, I have no idea whats going to happen.

Yeah, I remember that day quite clearly. I had planned out a fairly large two-day trip into Edmonton, both for some personal business and as a casual get-together with three other furs I met online first. Everything was going very well until the end of the evening when we decided to go home. That's when I discovered that my truck had been STOLEN! To cut the story short, I reported the theft to the police, who did eventually find my truck (missing a few pieces, but otherwise still in good shape), and the furs who I met were quite helpful and supportive through the whole ordeal.

I've never really met another furry. =P
Well, actually. There was the time a furry friend of mine happened to be in the area, and he dropped in and we had lunch together. But it just seemed more like a lunch with a friend, might as well have not been anything furry related at all.
Still hoping there'll be a meet somewhere nearby enough to go to, sometime.

You live close enough to other furs, it'd seem, Case. You'll likely meet some furs or scalies at some point. As for my first time meeting a fur RLwise, it was kinda scary. I had about an hour of driving before I met him at his house. He had a cast thanks to an injury, so he was unable to meet me at a local furmeet, so I opted to drop in for a while before going to that meet later that day. He and I watched The Lion King, since we both loved that film. We hung out and such, chatting and not doing a lot else... then I left for that meet in downtown Toronto. Details are sketchy, since I was probably rather frazzled that day, but it went decently enough. Benjamin

I remember the first time rather well as it was just back in Jan. I went to California (not the fur con at that time), who I have known online for while, who is also friends with the person I oraginly went to see. It was a fun time.

Lol i met her in English class 2 years ago. She became a friend, then a best friend. and still is. Best friend I mean. She was drawing her character, i didn't realize it was "furry art" till about a month later when she explained it all to me. I liked the idea and started drawing Shiko.
Now my first actual get together... well let's just say I wasn't used to furries' openness at this point. My boobs were jokingly groped, my head was nommed on and i believe someone tried to untie my shoes with her teeth. o.o Now it wouldn't affect me at all, but at the time i was a little shocked. xD
So yeah that was my intro into the fandom. Woo.

First fur i met was Ben, who popped up coincidentally while i was researching big online and is responsible for all the mayhem ever since!! Met my first face to face fur from this forum and it went so well that were now best mates despite some extreme and controversial differences!

Going by technicalities, first fur I ever saw in real life walked into the Games workshop I was working in back when I was 16, he was wearing a shirt with pretty much a soft core furry porn picture on it about some convention he had been to and was wearing a tail as well. I knew imediately what it was about but didn't feel like ruining a reaputation I had with customers at the time of 'not overly weird' had I revealed my furryness then I probably would have been 'man he's messed up' from then on.
I think the first time I've ever met one willingly knowing they was a fuzzy was going to one of the calgary dinners like 6 years ago with Coda. Which turned out to be a much more relaxing encounter.

My first face to face furry meeting happened last weekend actually. There was this cool breakfast/brunch that the people in the monfur group set up. Figured it was about time to interact with the group. I'm quiet. Nice resteraunt near the river in MTL. I guess it was kind of nerve racking at first. I'm no good conversation wise but it turned out O.K....I think.... The food was allright. Overall a casual breakfast occasion. Good people. Looking forward to some more get togethers once in a while.

Vividly. Very, very vividly... it was the Halloween furmeet among local furs (i.e. Sudbury) in October 2004. At the time, I didn't have a car, so it was pretty much a matter of "how are you going to get there"? - I pretty much settled on saying to my folks I was going to go see a movie and getting a ride from Benjamin, and with other. One local fur, I believe, is still in possession of a map that illustrated what sort of route I had to take... yes, I was very devious and plotting. So before the fact I went out for dinner with my dad... and, quite frankly, my dinner didn't really want to stay down due to nervousness... I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that one. I don't think I was able to get too much down for the rest of the night. But I do end up making it to the movie theatre... and happened to spot a vehicle with a kitty on the dash and a kitty in the front seat as I wandered around the parking lot... that would be Sedyah. (DAMMIT Ben, you and your playing of Mario Party... what kind of host are you!?) I think that I might have gotten involved in gaming at some point, but having only been around for a couple of hours I seem to remember watching more than anything. Admittedly, at the time I was far more introverted, and there was still the furry stereotype of "THEY'RE ALL YIFFBALLS AND THEY'LL EAT YOU IN YOUR SLEEP" playing up in my mind. But, with time, that ceased... :3 Considering that I made it home in one piece, anyway...

First one I met online eventually became my best friend. I love him to death and he is one of the greatest human beings I've ever met. He has feelings for me, though I am not gay, which kills me. We get along great though.
The first I met in real life? I can't say...it was a group of people. I can't say I had an opinion of the experience...there were some great, down-to-earth people and some that fulfilled the scary furry stereotype.

I met my first RL furs around a month ago, a local furry group. It was kinda nervewrecking at first and I'm still mostly silent when I see them but... it's really nice to know furs offline.
Online though... it was over three years ago now, a guy on a forum who began showing me furry pics by TailsRulz. Not friends with him anymore though, sadly...
